"the opposite of nato is me", otan is nato spelled backwards, that doesn't make it the opposite....

i have 2 admit, i'm not quite sure what all of that is about either...any help here would b appreciated.....

I have seen a lot of theories from people who, like us, just don't know. The only thing I know about OTAN is that it is the French,Spanish, & Portugese acronym for NATO. What that has to do with anything, I have no idea. Wish I could help. Better yet, wish Prince would explain.

Aton means sun/god. It is from the first religion that worshiped one god (the sun). This religion was started by the Egyptian Farao Achnaton. What's the name of that song? Muse 2 the ....

I swear when I saw Prince play live last weekend, he said "the opposite of NATO is ME." Anyone else hear that?

yeah thats right, OTAN was what the egyptian were told to worship by king akanaton who, i think, from what i recall was tutenkamen's father. he changed what the they believed in for thousands of years, which was the belief in many gods, but he changed it to one god,the sun, OTAN.

The meaning of the song Computer Blue???
This is just a possible take on it. We all often get our own meanings out of songs, when the songwriter never meant anything in particular by it. Maybe it's just music.
Shall we start with the second half of the song? Yes, Lisa!
It's the melody from the song his dad was playing on the piano in the basement(Purple Rain movie). His dad said that he didn't have to write his music down and that's what made him different from The Kid. Also, he had lots of songs and they were all different too.
He sees the troubled relationship between his parents, and how unhappy both of them are.
This is actually my favorite part of the song. I love the beat and the melody.

Now we go back to the first part.
A conversation between Wendy and Lisa about the water being warm enough and beginning. Hmmm?
Some have said this is a veiled reference to lesbianism.
I guess I'd have to be a lesbian to know.
This is all done over a drum beat.
After Wendy says, Yes Lisa, that they should begin, then the music begins.

Prince asks about HIS love life. Sounds like he's lonely, and looking for a righteous one(someone who stands up to the test and meets the criteria) to be his "soulmate".
Does he say, Computer Blue because his only relationship is with the machinery of computers? Studio, personal, or musical computers(keyboards are basically computers).[Was 1984 before the Internet? I don't remember when it came about.] Maybe he wants to experience a real connection through his own machinery(his body, mind, soul)with a soul-mate. He perceives something is wrong with the machinery(his?),and he doesn't know what the hell is going on. Is he looking at the relationship between Wendy and Lisa and envying it? Yet even their conversation sounds robotic and emotionless.

The guitar solo is when Wendy gets on the floor and it looks like she's giving him a blow job. Every man likes and needs good head.

So just what does Computer Blue mean to you?????

the Acknahten(sp?)= Moses theory is entertaining, but the chronology is way off. Maybe he was the unnamed Pharoh who ruled during the time of Joseph or another one influenced by the Israelite's God, Jehovah. They were aware of who He was. It would be interesting if/when archeology ever catches up and satiates our curiosity re: Egyptian chronology. There are a lot of holes in it as of now. Oh well, you can't have everything...where would you put it?
