The Hits 3-4/The C-sides

Hey-
These new tracklists have got me thinking about some of my own creative tracklists. I always thought that "The Hits/B-Sides" lacked some songs that deserved inclusion. So I've taken the liberty to make my own versions of "The Hits 3 and 4 and the C-Sides!" In retaliation for the lame "Very Best of Prince," here is something that might make a little sense!

Here is my tracklist for the Hits 3- 8)

1. Batdance
2. Bambi
3. America
4. Computer Blue
5. Darling Nikki
6. Sexuality
7. Sexy Dancer
8. DMSR
9. Private Joy
10. Partyup
11. Partyman
12. Housequake
13. Le Grind
14. Let's Work
15. Let's Pretend We're Married
16. Hot Thing

Here is my tracklist for the Hits 4- eek

1. My Name Is Prince
2. New Power Generation
3. Glam Slam
4. Paisley Park
5. Girls and Boys
6. Take Me With U
7. Mountains
8. I Wish U Heaven
9. The Future
10. Thunder
11. Anotherloverholenyohead
12. Automatic
13. Baby I'm A Star
14. Just As Long As We're Together
15. Willing and Able
16. Lovesexy

Here is my tracklist for the C-Sides- lol

1. This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip
2. Loveleft, Loveright
3. Do Your Dance
4. Love or $
5. Staxowax
6. Alexa de Paris
7. Sex
8. Get Off
9. Call the Law
10. Take This Beat
11. Rock and Roll Is Alive (And It Lives in Minneapolis)
12. 4 the Tears in Your Eyes (studio)
13. Lubricated Lady
14. Violet the Organ Grinder
15. Horny Pony
16. Gangsta Glam
17. Universal Love
18. 2 Whom It May Concern

Well I don't think that the hits 3+4 should include songs older than 1992 since they (WB) already kinda picked the best of the best of that group. Although I agree that some songs shoulda made that collection that didn't -Batdance, Take me with U, Darling Nikki, etc.

I think Prince/NPG should release their own "greatest hits/anthology" type deal complete with an accompanying video/concert collection + stuff. But alas, we R off track. Here is my random musings about what should be "the hits" from 1993-on:

1. Pussy Control
2. Jam of the Year
3. The Greatest Romance
4. So Far So pleased
5. The Holy River
6. Letitgo
7. TMBGITW
8. Days of Wild
9. Face Down
10. Endorphine Machine
11. The Work
12. Come On
13. The One
14. Dolphin
15. I hate U
16. GOLD
17. Dinner w/ delores
18. Baby Knows
19. The Ride
20. Lovesign
21. Last December

I've got other projects that are ALL 12" and extended mixes...8) I kind of made these as a companion to the Hits/B-Sides that Warner issued.

Sorry guys, but you obviously haven't heard any remixes by Opiate, Alex Gopher or Portishead... - I'm not talking about an album of lame housemixes and boring megamixes, but a truckload of provoking and challenging Prince interpretations by some of the most interesting new cross over people in the funky part of electronic music world. People like Björk, and french acts Booster and Air could be interesting too. Imangine all these people tearing up their favourite Prince songs and doing it out of curiosity and respect....

Vivid...we know what "hits" means do U? We ain't talkin' about bill-bored charts. We R talkin' about what makes your ass move. The radio is dead. Besides is "Head" a hit by charts standards? Nope. Did it make "The Hits/B-sides"? Yes.

Oh

I just listened to my Hits 3 on the way home from a Busta Rhymes concert- eek and it flows really well. I tried to make the Hits 3 have a darker tone, and the Hits 4 a more spiritual one. Just an idea, all! Glad you guys responded!
