Best track on Musicology?

biggrin

I think that the best song on "Musicology" is "Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance". But what do ya'all think? Which track do you find playing over and over and singing along with over and over?

Definitely "If I Was The Man In Ur Life". I love that song. But the rest of Musicology is also great.

What Do U Want Me 2 Do and Musicology. The rest of it pretty much bores me now.

A few months ago I would never have thought that I would say this, but the one song that I can't stop singing in my head and causes me to pop that CD back in the player for a bit is Life O' The Party. eek

I know, I know, so much for my credibility. But hey, I've never been bashful about liking The Arms of Orion or Jughead either...and I think Batdance is one of his best singles ever.

I THINK ILLUSION, COMA PIMP IS A HORRIBLE TUNE. eek

BEST TRACK IS THE CURRENT SINGLE. MARRYING KIND IS STRONG ALSO.

Somehow, your choices consist of my top two favorite, and top 3 most hated at the same time (a million days, the marrying kind, If I was the man). I hate the synthesizer especially in the latter two, much much much worse than in Musicology.

I never realised how good this album is until recently when I started playing it the whole way through. Best track would probably be What Do U Want Me 2 Do or the title cut. On The Couch, however, is the worst track on the album. It should only ever be played live - loses all of it's charm in an isolated studio environment.

I'm all about the slow songs on this album. My favorites are:

A Million Days
Call My Name

I also really like Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance, but those a cappella lines at the beginning kinda kill me. I dunno, they just sounda sorta off to me.

No, no, no, no. It's not ICPC. That track would sound better on Emancipation than on Musicology. The best track would be either "A Milliion Days" or "The Marrying Kind".

There are about 8 "best" tracks on this album. ICPC, A million days, Dear Mr. Man and The marrying kind are the four I can't decide among. On the couch certainly isn't my favorite but even that one is growing on my ears.

It used to be ICPC, but now it sounds too outdated to me.

I'd say A Million Days.

at first, it was A Million Days, but now i'd definitely say If I Was The Man In Ur Life. i've really warmed to Call My Name as well, which i liked at first, but love now.

ICP&C is annoying to me. it's like a slightly less annoying Life O' The Party. US of D definitely should have replaced one of those 2.

My two faves are "A Million Days" and "Call My Name"

The only snoozer on the record is "Reflection," in my opinion. It just sits there and doesn't do anything for me.

"A Million Days" - classic Prince.

As for "ICPC" it is frankly unlistenable.

The Marrying Kind/If I Was The Man In Ure Life. It's thw only two tracks that absolutely belonged on the same album and needed to follow one another. Theyh both have a very rich, quasi orchestral sound despite being quite different.
