4 The Tears In Your Eyes - which version? Do you prefer the B-Sides version or the We Are The World version?
Personally, I'm not sure (which is why I started this thread!)...

While the B-side version is interesting for the live sound (it was essentially the audio to the video they showed at the Live Aid concert, I think), I do prefer the version from the charity album. Just cleaner and better mixed.

I've been giving both a listen and I have to say I agree....it is more urgent-sounding and yes, better mixed.

The "We r the world" album version is alot better in my book- nice words, sweet song.....

b-sides version. there's just something about the up-tempo arrangement of the album version that sounds off. so does the singing..... "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

The USA for Africa version sounds more like "Around the World in a Day".
The B-sides version sounds more like "Parade". It's all about context. They both work well.

The B-sides version sounds more like "Parade". It's all about context. They both work well. I like this explanation; it makes good sense.

Personally, I'm not sure (which is why I started this thread!)... What's the difference? The B-Sides version is slower with sparser instrumentation and I think it has different lyrics. The We Are The World version is faster, with more 80s rock production and has more of an intense feel. I think it's shorter, too.
