THE FIRST AVENUE/7TH STREET ENTRY DIED LAST NITE (NOT)*

The bulldozers finally came 2 First Avenue last nite. As a handful of bystanders stood by, the plows methodically bashed in2 the landmark's walls until a heap of black concrete filled 7th Street. Some brave onlookers jumped the barricades 2 grab shards of the building's fallen stars 4 their music rooms or mantles--a piece of the Mighty Mofos here or a Prince there--be4 it was all swept away 2 make room for the parking ramp that begins construction next month...

And then eye woked up n a cold sweat, screaming.

And there was me thinking you were going to expound a little on the brilliance of the 1984 surprise gig Prince and The Revolution played at 7th Street Entry, oh well...

Or maybe you were going to sing the praises of the "Girls & Boys/Holly Rock" jam he played alonside Sheila E in 1986, when he absolutely obliterated his bass onstage.

Two performances to treasure.
