Life O' the Party, Call My Name Huge Hits in my Spinning Class!!!

My Spinning class instructor is a HUGE Prince fan. This is odd, but in every class, she plays at least 2 Prince songs. Well yesterday, it was all Musicology. Guys, I told you that CMN would be big hit on R&B and will black folks, in particular. Everyone in class was jamming to LOTP, then she played CMN and everyone went crazy!!! Some people didn't even realize that it was Prince and when I told them, they went crazier!!

Finally hears CMN on the sorry-ass ghetto station here in D.C., 93.9. When the song finished, the DJ said that he loves this song and others called in requesting it again...

It's amazing how much better it sounds on big speakers. Also, my sister, who is NOT a Prince fan said that she likes the Musicology CD. She just got a new car with a CD player; I made her listen to the CD, since I was driving. She loves "Musicology" and "Life O' the Party." She also like DMM, and WDUWM2D, Reflection...

See, all people have to do is listen. The people who are open-minded enough to listen without making pre-judgements seem to like the album and can't believe just how talented Prince truly is...

I'm so digging LO'TP....I thought it was pretty lame at first but totally hooked on it now.I also don't understand why SO many dislike Candy's vocals on this one. It's paired very nicely with that big dudes voice.

That's cool, but can you paint a picture for me...

how'n'the HELL do you SPIN to "Call My Name"????

eek confused eek confused eek confused eek

I'd straight fall of the bike and start writhing around on the FLOOR!

Not the right tempo for a SPIN, is it?

Please share...ha ha!

It was VERY difficult. We did a slow spin, as if you're riding up a hill. You have to turn the tension all the way up to get the effect, then find the tempo. I think she had the tempo too slow; she had to adjust the tempo on the tape. By the end of the song, everyone was dying because it was so hard, but we got through it.

Life O'the Party is a good upbeat song even though a lot of Orgers dis it.

I played that song for a friend of mine who didnt like Prince too much and she was like
"Wow, hes jammin!" Then she listened to the whole CD and the next day, proudly showed me that she had bought a copy!

Yeah, I teared up a little. It was just such a beautiful moment touched

I gotta give Donnie Simpson props. He has said many times over the years that he's a major Prince fan. He will usually play "Musicology" or "CMN" in the mornings when most people are listening. You'd be lucky to hear it after that. I just think that on the one hand, the kids aren't diggin' the song. But on the other hand, there is a fanbase out there; D.C. has always loved Prince, so there IS an audience, but I'm also sure that they don't necessarily listen to 95.5, either...
