In a second, a couple of folks will show up to grouse that Prince is "cheating" and blah, blah, blah. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

that's my favorite thing about all of this! he's screwing them at their own game!! for each week that he's in the top 10, his record stays on displays across the country! i love him and his marketing peeps!! i also love that he's gonna drop off for a few weeks and then bounce back on top!

Hey I am happier that he is cheating! The whole industry deserves a beating. And Prince beat them at their own game.
And I really REALLY hope that he does the Musicology 2004ever Tour FOREVER! That would be the ultimate practical joke. Musicology would still be in the top 10 in 2010! He can just keep touring, taking three weeks off four times a year. Do three to four shows a week... fly home after most of the shows. Eventually start changing the setlist and selling new albums at the concerts and retail (while still giving away musicology of course). It is reallyl not that tough a schedule... and if the right venues are planned for the right times, it could still sell out for quite a while. Do Europe and Asia every now and then to let America go through some Prince withdrawl. The album will stay on the retail "Top 20" displays forever. What is great is that there will always be a weekly few thousand sales just from impulsive buyers (I've broken down and bought albums just because they were high on the charts for a long period of time. I had to see what the fuss was about). It will be even more funny when Musicology stops selling at all in retail but because of the special rule for Prince, Musicology is still in the top 20. It would be a very Prince joke to play. It could really be a lot of fun for him and the band. While in America having to work every other day (and only the later half of the day on show days), no one is going to get strained. He's just gotta stop doing four or five shows in a row. sheesh!! The 26,000 that bought the retail copy aren't going to the concert. The other 70,000 decided to wait and get the copy that was included with the ticket price...

Maybe now Prince will create shitty albums like Musicology forever. Whatever works, right? "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I love this guy...I think I'm almost obsessed with his "positive" attitude. This Musicology situation reminds me of D&P. That LP is not thought of as one of his most brilliant yet a lot of people have it in there collection about 7-8million. Musicology willl probablaby end up with about 4million with concerts included 2.5million without.

If more albums like Musicology means that the Reagan loving, Slipknot loving, buzzkill currently known as EvilWhiteMale will continue to be pissed at Prince, and will continue to take time out of his busy day to share his witty pissisms with the rest of us, all I can say is Prince, bring on "Musicology 2, Electric Boogaloo".

how long has it been since Prince put out a studio album and it got the little platinum triangle beside it on the billboard chart? I sure haven't seen it actually show up on the chart in a long, long time. But there it is this week:
