My thoughts exactly!..... I want an "ASS-KICKIN-GUITAR DRIVEN-ROCKED OUT- FUNKED UP- COMA INDUCING" guitar record. A touch of Endorphinemachine, Peach, Let's Go Crazy, and other's that slip my mind at the moment. The recent George Harrison tribute and with the recent download.... I am ready for Prince to reclaim his throne as a guitar GAWD! [This message was edited Thu Jul 1 15:45:24 2004 by kendogg] [This message was edited Thu Jul 1 15:45:48 2004 by kendogg]

I'm with ya, I'm not too excited about this either, since we already have The Hits/The B-Sides, and the greatest hits album that was released by Warner Brothers. Prince, release some of the stuff from the vault! That's what a lot of your fams want to hear. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'll be treating this as a rumor till I have a copy in my grubby little hands. How many "coming soon" comments has Prince made that haven't panned out?

I want to meet that kitty, I just love cats! I have three of my own here at home. At one time, wasn't there a cat named Paisley that lived at PP? Wonder whatever happened to her? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

no, i'm not. that album and 1999 BOTH should've gotten 5 stars instead of a piddly 4.

I want an album of new material, not just new versions of old hits. Not even interested in this one. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

In a previous interview this year, Prince mentioned that his "next instrumental album" I.E. like news, "might be released on blue note records later this year" now given the fact that the acoustic set on this current tour has become so popular, maybe prince changed his mind? dont't know. All I can say is that Prince should do a accoustic or "unplugged" ablum of his hits instead of the "instrumental", while unique, it is sometimes boring. again this is only my opinion.

It looks like I'm the only one who is excited by the prospect of an accoustic album by P of his hits.

I understand that sentiment. I got very excited seeing the accoustic segment on Art of Musicology and it really made me desire a fully accoustic album from him. Especially if it were live. I would like an acoustic version of some of Prince's hits. He did "Someting in the Water..." acoustically here in Dallas and I felt like I was the only person who knew the song. I know I wasn't. But I want be to sad if it doesn't happen Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

9. True! Q: Prince would visit Miles Davis at home and Davis would answer the door stark naked. "All of human history was on that body", says Prince. "See that and you wouldn't want to eat for a week".
Good God All Mighty! DIRTY MIND - 4/5
The album which raised sex talk to new levels of artistry - and funk. A half-hour shot of longing (When You Were Mine) and lust (Head) from a man in a G-String who looked like Rick James crossed with Britney Spears. rick and brit huh? well that would b one ugly horny ass baby then. Me, neither. If it's the collection Anji went on about last autumn - "live in the studio with Eric Leeds and Sheila E" - then the original studio versions would definitely be preferable. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Remember what Purple moments really are - if you agree that the color purple represents spiritualtiy and sexuality, then each of the moment that EYE described combine both concepts.
That's what I love about prince. He seems to be the only one who can truly communicate sexuality as spiritual. I've heard that purple is the color for converting negative energy to positive energy. Another reason I am so fascinated by his TALENT. [This message was edited Thu Jul 1 18:23:01 2004 by heartbeatocean]

Welllll, see now you got me all excited...ain't nuthin' wrong with a whole lotta Eric Leeds. For some reason, I have a feeling they (Prince and Eric) are on the outs right now, so it would surprise me quite a bit...pleasantly. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Now that almost this whole article has been posted...I don't need to buy the mag.
That being said... I'm unemployed due to a disability. I only get so much SSDI($) a month...so I'm poor basically. Being poor makes it hard 2 b a or a Prince fan. Last month, for the last 3 days b4 I got my check, I was eating Peanut butter and jelly tortillas and water...cuz that's all I had. I wanted sooooo bad 2 go out and get the Rolling Stone...but I just didn't have the money. When I finally did get the money...the mag was no longer on the shelves and I couldn't find it anywhere. NOBODY(that I can find) posted this article...only a chunk of it that was on RS's websight. ALL I want to do is read that whole article. I don't want a copy of it sent to me. I just wanna read it. Does ANYONE know where the whole thing is posted? Org. note me....please

You people are weird. i'd love such an album. Also in the same mag P comes in at No. 49 above Xtina, Timbaland, Missy, Springsteen, M Manson and loads more in its '100 Most Powerful People In Music' poll which is quite suprising me thinks, and would have been a miracle just a few months ago. WOW! A 'featured' topic - I feel honoured!
(It doesn't take much to please me!) aaraonap - thanks, buddy. dansa - aww, bless ya. I know how essential they are to you, hun. daddypop - I was thinking the same, as well. I've heard the rumours re: Blue Note - I assumed it would be 'Xpectation' that would be released but, perhaps, Prince is considering this instead. Personally, I'd LOVE to hear an acoustic album. How many times previously has Prince said MTV chased him for an 'Unplugged' set? I'm not 'into' Dylan or Nirvana particularly but look how everyone raved about their 'Unplugged' albums at the time. And we know Prince has got the chops to pull this off. I've yet to see the latest concerts but - based on 'The Art Of Musicology' show and the acoustic sets I saw in Paisley '02 (which, literally, brought tears to my eyes - it was the most spine-tingling, beautiful performance) and London '02 - I know this could be a very special album, with the right approach. Yeah, I'd love a new album of original material but I'd also love to hear these beautiful songs intimately, with a new twist. Example? 'I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man' on The Art Of Musicolgy - not exactly one of my all-time favourite tracks - but watching that performance has given me a new-found love for that song. Wonderful. So - if this album ever appears, I'll quite happily buy it.
