Feb. 15, 2002 pg. 10b
{{{Prince heads out over his 'Rainbow'}}}

Prince promises to strip down and get intimate on his upcoming spring tour. OK, not in the biblical sense, though with a religious experience can't be ruled out. One Nite Alone With Prince a 33-date cross-country tour opening March 1 in Saginaw, Mich., will showcase tunes from his current faith-based and jazz-infused album, The Rainbow Children, as well as new songs and classics

Backed by a keyboardist, bassist and drummer and joined on occasion by saxophonists Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer, Prince pledges a mellow, jazzy show free of bungee cords pyrotechnics and dancers. He'll accompany himself on piano and guitar in lean versions of songs never performed live.

Tickets for dates through March 10 go on sale Saturday.

Early dates:
Chicago, March 2; Cincinnati, March 5; Detroit, March 6; Buffalo, March 7; Louisville. March 9; Cleveland, March 10; Baltimore, March 25; Pittsburgh, March 26; Washington, March 28 and 30."
