Prince to perform in NY after R&R Hall Of Fame ceremony

After the Vegas show, we ran into Renaldo N. and we asked him if there were any after show planed in NYC for the evening of the R&R Hall Of Fame. He said that he did not know the specifics, but that something was definitely going to take place after the official ceremony...

Yea, it's Renato...If the man will change a setlist in the middle of the show, how can U plan on anything this far in advance? Aloha~

we all know the man is unpredictable, but if he is bringing his band and gear to NY, it was fairly predictable that he'd do something. I had heard the the BB King Cafe was booked but i don't know if that's true. all i was reporting is that renato told us they were planning to do something in nyc after the ceremony which is rather good news.

Think he'll participate in the customary jam at the end? I hope so, but my gut says otherwise...

Prince's strongest move is that he always is unpredictable. I know, sometimes it gets on my nerves too, but remember those days when we loved actually every mistery, every unbareble double meaning in his sparse answers! smile

I believe the Hall of Fame stopped doing the jam at the end of the ceremony a few years back.

The band aren't completely in the dark. I remember after the soundcheck of the 2nd Melbourne concert last year, John Blackwell was talking with some fans and people were asking him "Is there an aftershow?" and his reply was "I don't know". Asked "Do you know where it might be?" reply "I don't know". Asked, "Has Prince said anything?", he answered "You ask me anything, I don't know. My name today is 'I Don't Know'." He said with a wry smile. He knew.

Unless twin663 is under 21 and they have the show in NY at a 21-and-over establishment like the ones in Vegas, in which case you're screwed. sad

What's the date for the ceremony? Maybe I can plan in advance. I thought that they did have the jam at the end still...hmmm. Where's the ceremony held and how hard is it to get tickets?

the ceremony is in NYC - at the waldorf astoria i believe ... on march 14,15, or 16!!??... you have to look at the prince.org home page to get the exact date

from what people have said ... its tough to get into the actual ceremony (unless u know studio people, etc...)

the BB Kings website shows a Prince tribute for that night ... and i just noticed that George Clinton is there the next week ...

What about a post-Grammy performance in NYC???

He always likes to play late in NYC, if he would play after the HOF why not after the Grammy's?? Keep ur ears open!!!

It is going to be at the House of Blues in LA, not in NYC. I just received an email from NPGMusicClub confirming this. You can purchase tickets on the musicclub now.

you're confusing the R&R hall of fame ceremony with the grammys.

I know I can't even think to afford to get into the HOF ceremony and I surely don't have a contact to help on that side of the house. I only HOPE that NPGMC announces something in advance if they will be at BB Kings or any other venue in NYC.
