yeah this is off of jonny's "wander this world" album that came out a few years ago. solid record and a terrific song nonetheless.

I saw him perform this a week or so ago.. when he started this song, he stood back about 5 feet from the microphone, cupped his hands at his mouth (like when you yell a long distance) and sang the first verse like that. I thought it was the coolest thing.. I'd never seen anyone start a song like that.. smile

Oh, and he is still HELLA fine, btw. drool

Yeah Prince does shout out his name but Jonny never appears!! Anyway Kip Blackshire takes the mic in that sess...Maceo, i told you not to squeeze your horn!! hehe

Doesn't seem like a news item..

Anyway, Yeah, this was a cool cover of I Am. I believe it was serval years ago. '99/2000?

Elisa Fiorillo first recorded it on her 1987 album 'I Am'.
For those who don't know of it. Prince penned a bunch of the tracks on the album.. Levi is all over it.I'll have to dig it out. I think Eric might be on this also.
