This is Fantastic guys, well done on the dedication to this epic book!

If I have read right, U will release this "Vault" book, abandon the Uptown magazine in favour for a yearly edition which would go hand in hand with the book?

If that's the case, i'd like to see something like a ring binded folder released, and the "Vault" pages loose with holes on the left side to insert into the folder, then when the yearly editions are released (also with the holes), they could then be split into their chapters, added into the folder and updated accordingly. U could then have dividers between each section for quick reference (with a picture of Prince on each divider).

If information on a particular page is incorrect (example some of the information in "Days Of Wild" was incorrect in parts), no problem. Re-issue the new updated information, and the collecter takes that page out of the folder and replaces it with the new information.

Just an idea, but i'd love to see something like this happen

I sure hope that I don't have to rebuy this book every year. Try looking into something more modular, like a series of individual books: one for each year, of a couple of years, for instance, one with a list of songs and all necessary information, one about associated artists,...

And please please please an index so people can easily find when and where there's information about say Morris Day or a particular song...

This is actually an excellent idea. This is how we update military publications or Changes.

It's also less costly than publishing the complete book over and over again.

Hope they take this into consideration!!!

I agree. It may not happen as it may be finacially prohibitive, but all the same, I DO think it is worth at least looking in2. But the paper would need 2 be of some decent quality so as not 2 get ripped easily - as ring binders are prone 2 do.

Kudos 2 all u guys at Uptown who put in the graft 4 us. Appreciated, and always a joy 2 digest.

Nooo!!! I think the original idea is great. So we buy this book every year. It's updated and revised every year right? I'd much rather have all the info I need in ONE annual book as opposed to 5 books in 5 years with interesting and less interesting topics... Anyway... the book is just about ready to go to print anyway...

Whatever Uptown choose to publish, I will not think twice about purchasing it! Without Uptown's in-depth reportage and independant and honest views, being a Prince 'fan' would have been incredible boring over the past 10 or so years!
I hope one day they all get truly recognised for all the hard work they have produced all these years.

Prince should be proud he has an independent organisation such as Uptown who base their work on his career!

VIVA UPTOWN!

How about READING instead of making dumb stuff up in your mind. Uptown are mostly about the PAST. There's still tons from the 1980s that's barely reported on, and the people involved are only now talking (because they've given up hope of ever receiving the money Prince owes them).
