Yom Kippur started October 6th, (not sure when it ended), but it fits the time frame.

One thing I want to know is why are we JUST NOW hearing this story... Yom Kippur was about 3 weeks ago right?! Is there a Jew in the house? If Prince came to my door the org would be the first to know about it. But then again no one would believe me.

So why did it take so long for us to hear about this if it is true...? anyone anyone... Somebody find me a calendar...

The JW were just at my door the other day. They gave me a flyer to read. Right on the front cover it says "There is no place in heaven for homosexuality" This turned me off right away. I believe God loves those who believe in his powers, reguardless of their sexual orientation. Besides, isn't Prince in the closet???

First off matthew 24:14 says to preach. And JW's don't beleive many go to heaven. Only 144,000. And i am familiar with JW's and i have not seen that piece of literature and thoroughly doubt it exist since their view of heaven isn't like that. Your comments are laughable though.

Fuck it, I like her - I love the fact there is someone out there who isn't willing 2 bend 2 Prince's every whim.

...and u can just tell that really bugs the shit outta him.

A little antagonistic pressure never hurt anyone.

I like knowing he's kept on his perky little toes.

I spoke last week to an angel he said there were some extra seats available...the exact number he said is gonna be 144.052.

To apply for the new seats available. Please insert TRC and sing aloud: "in the name of the father, etc..". U might be selected for the heaven experience.

Good Luck!

The most optimistic and least "fans" among us (including me) always say that only music matters. That's why I never really cared about Prince being an asshole. Actually, his music may even have benefited from his paranoia and his tyranny for a certain period (the 1980s mainly)

However this JW shit is starting to weigh on me because it is really affecting his music very negatively. Musically he is in great shape at the moment, his production sounds as fresh as ever, and I liked NEWS and TRC for this. But undoubtedly the pure excitation -even madness at times- I used to have listening to a prince album is long gone. One deep reason, beyond the lyrics, is that JW Prince has lost any ambition he had for himself, being more than ever entirely dedicated to god. The result is music made for God and himself. The guy who used to "listen to all kinds of music" and blend them into his own music style seems to have lost any ear for music other than his, except when being clearly attacked (thank you Dangelo!).

This is going to allienate fans a little bit more. The man who has been inspiration for at least two thirds of current music trend setters may end up pathetically in complete isolation.

Where is the Minneapolis Kid gone ???

I am so sad

If this could be true, is he really using the name Nelson? Does he now want to be known as Nels son, after previously decrying this name as slavery, or was that only when it suited him. seems this little man is getting confused again.

Oh yeah, heard the same... but if I recall it right, there were only a few stage seats left for an awful bunch o'money and some so called Diamond tickets. Anyway, these allow you to experience the Last Judgement as a pre-show.

This is never going to be a great career move, and the religion requires proselytizing, so what's the point of taking shots? The only thing you could fault him with is timing, but that's the way it's supposed to be for him -- material matters are not supposed to delay "the work". "Rochelle" has the right to find it annoying, but let's remember that if it had not been Prince, she would have closed the door upon realizing she was being preached to. In other words, she decided to prolong the proceedings. If she was somehow Halle Berry and she had knocked at the gates of Paisley Park, I bet Prince would have let her go on about Judaism too.

He's only practicing his religion. Then again, CJ is just practicing her craft -- it's her job to have the most superficial, appearances-based and conventional interpretation of what happens to celebs. Gossip columns have many function, but traditionally none more enduring than to make "ordinary folks" like you and me feel more reasonable and smarter than half the celebrities out there. Like, maybe we don't have all the money and fame we fantasize about, but at least we've got more sense than at least half these guys. That's the basic presumption and it works wonderfully with someone like Prince, who has chosen to embrace one of the most "uncool" religion, one associated with door knocking and pamphlet-shoving.

First off, I don't believe this story. Second, if Prince is going door-to-door, props to him. It is part of his faith to witness to others. Thirdly, this CJ person has some serious issues and needs help.

C.J., Star Tribune
Published October 12, 2003

Proselytizing for Jehovah's Witnesses during last Sunday's Vikings game wasn't the smoothest call Prince has ever made. An Eden Prairie woman, who prefers to be identified only as Rochelle, said, "Door bell rings. My husband runs upstairs and says, 'Prince is at the door!' I said, 'No way.' " Even though this was an inopportune time, they let in the man who introduced himself at "Prince Nelson" and another man. "I'm terrible with names," Rochelle said. "He was a bass player for some group, a long time ago. Older gentleman." Larry Graham? "Very good," Rochelle said. "This is Sunday about 2 o'clock. And it's the night of Yom Kippur. My first thought is 'Cool, cool, cool. He wants to use my house for a set. I'm glad! Demolish the whole thing! Start over!' Then they start in on this Jehovah's Witnesses stuff. I said, 'You know what? You've walked into a Jewish household, and this is not something I'm interested in.' He says, Can I just finish? Then the other guy, Larry Graham, gets out his little Bible and starts reading scriptures about being Jewish and the land of Israel." Uh-oh. Rochelle said she could not help but think, the Vikings had possession of the ball about two seconds ago. "They stayed for about 25 minutes," Rochelle said. "Left us a pamphlet." She should have asked Symbolina for an autograph. "There's no reason to slam him," she said. "He didn't do anything wrong; he was very kind. We watched him leave. Outside is a big black truck with a woman, long dark hair, in the front seat and they left." The woman met the general description of Prince's supposed wife, Manuella. Rochelle seemed perplexed that Prince didn't seem to stop at any other houses in her neighborhood. "They go door-to-door. Walking. He wasn't walking. He was driving." Hey, he was knocking on doors during a Vikings-Falcons game -- you can't expect Symbolina to follow ALL the rules of the religion he declared as his new faith in a 2001 magazine interview. "It was so bizarre, you would have just laughed," she said. The perfect esprit d'escalier came to Rochelle after Prince left: "If I showed up at Paisley [Park], would you let me in your front door to talk about Judaism?" There was no response from Paisley Park, where a note seeking a comment was delivered Thursday.

There is a passage in the bible about 144,000 People in israel. The JW twisted it to fit their religion.

That's an interesting statement.
We all know there's no such thing as bad publicity.
CJ now has thousands of Prince fans, therefore CJ haters, discussing her every word. This particular "juicy" item aside, we've laboured over her mere tidbits involving Prince to an nth degree.

Pulling out the big guns gets her across to all of us doesn't it?

So the more you and i post of her words the more we support her cause

I think Prince does all this to pay back all he took in his past; Because an anarchist, if you take an honest look, leans on dogmas, mainstream, family values, right-wing-politics, conservatives, etc. Like day leans on night. So now, i speculate, he want to pay back the other side to mix himself closer to God. This includes his whole-entire life. Sin verses surrender, and the other way around.
Tricky.
But i gues this comes as one out of a million speculations.

- I must admit I miss the times where Prince´s music was ´fresh´...´When doves cry´ still sounds fresh for me. But I dont think it has nothing to do with Prince´s spiritual quest. Most innovators don´t keep on being innovative all their lives and most of them are accused of being repetitive. It´s a matter of age. Here are some examples:
1) Eddie Van Halen
2) Paul Mc Cartney
3) Sting
4) Santana
and the list goes on and on. Judging from the booklet of a tribute to Hendrix, I read some quotes where he said he was planning to take a break and study music, play with orchestra and such...nobody knows if his music would sound less spontaneous because of that if he was alive today...
I think TRC was his second ´Lovesexy´ when it comes to lyrics (I dont like the concept of a ´storyline´). ´NEWS´ and ´Xpectations´ are instrumental albums. Let´s hear the next album to take a final conclusion.
