it says Prince is going to try and go commercial again. I hope so...one last stab at least!!! Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Neways, THIS MAKES ME SO-OH XCITED!!! Tho I dunno how teh UK will react to seeing Prince as a first-timer (to most of the population)

Uh oh - this sounds like Prince hiring all his friends and cronies again to do a professional's job. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I really hope he does go commerical again; because I've grown tired of hearing all these newbie artists. Half of their songs contain samples, borrowed beats, and some stupid lyrics. Prince needs to come back and school some of these artists. Then, he can become a recluse again; and I can listen to some quality music while he's gone. Could be a promising 2004 (commercially speaking) if Prince's marketing team manages to push the video to VH1/BET along with buzz of a Revolution reunion at Sheila's benefit while doing the same during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony later on.

How about having some integrity.Thank God Joni Mitchell doesn't think that way. I know this is going to make me sound like a music snob, but I'm going to guess the reason you want P to go commercial,is because you only listen to what's popular, and if that's the case, then you are going to miss some mind-blowing,thought-provoking music by only liking popular, commercial, made for the masses music. These following artists weren't or aren't interested in being "commercial" and that's probably why they're so good. Steely Dan Tim Buckley Frank Zappa Laura Nyro Rickie Lee Jones Kate Bush Tori Amos Joni Mitchell Most jazz musicians Jimi Hendrix(I don't think a guy who would make an album like Electric Ladyland is all about trying to be Mr.Popularity) And there's a lot more... You want your favorite musicians putting all their focus on being commercial or would you rather they be true to themselves and create some ART that will stand the test of time,& challenge you either musically or lyrically(or both)? I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

No more Raves, with Eve rapping (argh) and such things. As a fan, I only want Prince to make FRESH music, without outdated drumbeats, samples or special guests.

Sorry gypsyfire but the artists u mention here i personally dont consider as "so good", as u say (except for Mr. Hendrix of course, maybe also Zappa - but the rest of your list - please, come on! Please Dont even mention them in comparsion to Mr. P. i personally think that the commercial succesfull albums in the 80`s are Princes best works - not the "super-trouper-independent releases" from the 90´s like Kamasutra, The Truth, etc... WHO CARES!!! If he's 45 or 68...If Prince wants a shot at the commercial world , he's got the RIGHT to do so...after all he was commercial from 1982 til 1994 and 1996 again!
SO LEAVE HIM THE BLEEP ALONE! Mainstream Prince is what everyone knows him for anyways!
