I know that this is a concept album so maybe
I'm just not getting the concept. What I'm not getting is why does the sax (an instrument that Prince doesn't even play ) seem to be the dominant instrument on this album. I was expecting to hear some fierce raw guitar playing throughout this cd. N.E.W.S. just came across to me as a glorified Madhouse album. As excellent of a guitar player as he is for some reason he seems to not want to release an album full of raw rockin' guitar packed jams. I think the the closest we came to that was Purple Rain and more recently Chaos & Disorder. I also don't understand how at one time Prince was obsessed with playing a wide range of styles of music and seems to now only be intrested in one style of music which is jazz. There's nothing wrong with jazz music but an artist like Prince was never ment to play one style of music no more than Miles Davis was ment to be a Pop artist or a Hip Hop artist. I hope one day we'll get our Prince back but I doubt it. I will keep on buying his material although I question whether I buy it because I'm really still intrested or if it's just habit. E23

It took me a while to appreciate TRC as it was not commercial to say the least but i try to be open to music avenues that are different.N.e.w.s. is even more strange but i will be patient with it as i understand what prince is trying to achieve.
