Enhanced N.E.W.S. disc Hi,
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but if you pop your "N.E.W.S." disc into your computer there's a CD-ROM enhanced portion. It's a jumble of white letters against a black background that takes about 5 minutes to unsort itself. When the words become clear, it spells out the message "HE CAUSES 2 BECOME". There is no audio, and I have no idea what that means, as it's not even a complete sentence. Just thought I'd mention it! |

Actually the disk uploads a virus/spyware program into your computer. The name of the virus is: W.32.annoyingLarryGraham.worm . After being loaded and installed into your computer it spys on your system and send all the info to NPGMC. Furthermore everytime you visit a porn site, type in a cuss word, or listen to any pre 1996 Prince music, the program promps a pop-up of Larry Graham preaching to you about much of a sinner you are and that you should repent and join the J.W. Finally if your infected computer ever visits www.prince.org then the virus enables an auto-destruct program which will crash your system and then do nothing but play horrible tracks from T.R.C., N.E.W.S., and G.C.S.2000. It could be better...George Benson´s ´Absolute Benson´ has a video if you play it in the computer. It would be more interesting if they filmed a clip of the recording sessions. It seems Prince doesnt explore the technology´s potential. |

Yea, thats it. Prince doesnt do what you want so there must be some problem. Come on - Gustavo didn't say he had a problem with the poor multimedia content of "N.E.W.S."; he just pointed out that there could have been some CD-ROM features of much more interest (from a musical point of view) than a JW/bible inspired message, e.g. a video clip from the recording sessions. He didn't blame Prince for not putting such stuff on the album, he just summarized the facts: "It seems Prince doesn't explore the technology's potential." Anachronist __________________________

Let's calibrate (examine) this scripture, because it's one of the most mis-used scriptures in the Bible. Keep in mind that this will only be my interpretation, and there are can be as many "knowledgable" interpretations of this scripture as there are points of light in a spectrum. No one is right, because everyone is right. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman... (this part means if a man treats mankind as he has been known to treat woman - you know what word would apply here) ...both of them have committed an abomination...(man and mankind HAVE committed an abomination, in that man has tried to seperate himself from the rest of his "flock", so to speak) ...they shall surely be put to death... (they both shall be enlightened - not the bad thing we think it is) ...their blood shall be upon them...(their family will come to try to take their enlightenment away (because of what the family, which is really society) When you look at it like this, it certainly seems to take the clobber out of this scripture that all the fundamentalists, right-wing puppets and otherwise ignorant people have tried to affix onto it. | |

DVDs and CD-Roms are technologies that have not been explored to their full potential by him I was watching a TV ad of a DVD of a brazilian girl group called Rouge (Spice Girls wanna bes). The DVD has the concert, a very good design cover, interviews, making of, etc. Prince´s DVD looks like it is a VHS with digital image. |

Most likely this is just there to make it harder to rip the disc to MP3 on a PC. You are right Gustavo - Prince doesn't use the tech as he could do...plus he doesn't put out a full fledged concert with aftershow...he just doesn't fit in...he is Prince...he is still making money...and from time to time he makes a good tune that rocks...remember 2045...stuff like that I do look for...no band just him...the rest is mostly for the collection and for listening purposes, but the real stuff...I do miss it... ok...so i rembered today what i forgot a month ago...prince put out a new record...so i called the record store at the local mall and they ACTUALLY had it...one copy...so i hopped in the Volks and made the purchase...stopped at Taco Bell and brought it on home...
well i peeled that sucker out of the package and slapped it in my iMac and the screen went black...so i waited...ate a taco...waited some more...started thinking that this must be some kind of joke or something...then i just got bored so i got outa that screen and went for the music...so i'm listening..and eating..and downloading EVERY LAST SONG from Led Zepplins latest "How The West Was Won" off Lime Wire and wouldn't you know it...that friggin disc made my computer freeze...so i restart...get passed the black screen...started playing the disc again where i left off and started my downloads again and GUESS WHAT!!!...my computer froze again...go figure. as soon as i get done writing this i'm gonna rip the songs off that disc...blah blah blah | |
