City of Dallas sucks...



Yesterday Prince performed a show close to all the previously reported gigs, not much to add, it was funky, jazzy, funny...



Then an aftershow was annonced at the Gypsy Tea Room, in Deep ellum ( downtown Dallas )We got there, 300 of us, by 11.30, waited in line outside, in the cold ( upper 40's )for an hour and a half.
The crew pulled up unloaded shit loads of gears, a funked up alarm of a jeep kept on yapping till some guy got fed up and poped the hood and with the help of 4 other guys disarmed the ennoying sounds. Crowed cheered for the heroes ...Later on a cop was beeing all cool and teasing the crowed, in the mean time girls were half naked, shivering, shaking like leafs on trees, you could here the rattling of their teeth or knees of both...
Suddenly from the entrance door a bad bad news, the worst news possible is beeing annonced...IT S CANCELLED....



Nobody beleives it, we stay put and hope, when at 1.00 the doors open, no cover, no charges, ....bad news, the stage is empty, He is not coming...



So what was all that Prince Hit'n Run security doing there ?
What was all that gear beeing unloaded for ?
Who was in the looooong stretched up Ford Excursion looking at us waiting, hoping and freezing ?
What happened ?



well, Prince was ready to put on a show, ready to share, ready to have fun with his friends, us !
But the city of Dallas did not grant the permit to play and leave the Gipsy tea room open past 2.00 am...



And we know the Man, he was not about to play half an hour...



duh hell with Dallas, I came all the way from France to check this out with my Tx friends and the city had to mess it all up !
