Report on Rhonda Smith interview I must say that Rhonda Smith is a great person as well as being a talented
musician. We had a nice interview that lasted about 45 minutes. Ya'll best check out her new CD, Intellipop. It's a bass record with some vocals. Funk, jazz, and r&b. Sheila, Kat, Mike Scott and Kirk play on the tracks. Also, Lil John Roberts, who now plays with Lucy Pearl, is playing drums on several cuts. Regarding her involvement back with the MPLS crew, she has been really busy. Rhonda mentioned that she is playing upright bass for about 60% of the show. They are playing some new instruments on songs that haven't been played. It all ties in.... Rhonda was touring Japan with Sheila E. and Fifth Element. She met up with John Blackwell who along with Mike Scott was playing in a band with a Japanese lady. Much thanks to Rhonda S. for her generosity in taking the time for the interview and the folks who listened to the show. Joe Kelley WVOF Fairfield, CT | |
