I just saw the performance of Rennie Harris' ROME & JEWELS, a hip-hop interpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet via West Side Story. The music and dancing is AWESOME, as well as the adaptation. During the "sex" scene, the main character recites the ENTIRE last half of If I Was Your Girlfriend (starting with 'your body's what I'm all about'). All the purple people in the audience went wild! And of course they'd have to use the Prince song for the sex scene! lol

This show is touring US and Europe through next year - you should check it out when it comes to your town!
