New review of Possessed in funny Contra Costa Times article

I've already included it on my page with all the available information about Alex Hahn's "Possessed: The Rise And Fall Of Prince" ( http://pr1nc3.com/news/bo...sessed.asp ), but it deserves its own mention on the Org: Tony Hicks, pop music critic for The Contra Costa Times ( http://www.ContraCostaTimes.com/ ), incorporated a review of sorts in a concept article, published on February 14, 2003, that imagines a "washed-up rock star retirement home" (and before you all get on your high horse, get a sense of humor and READ IT).

You can find the full article here:

Yeah, real hilarious stuff. The author goes a long way to prove he only cares about radio friendly music.

Yes, an artist is ok for the retirement home if he hasn't a single every year a the top of the pops. Prince had no single in th elast 10 years? And the hit "the Most Beautifull Girls"?. Hit or not, here I come…

Radio friendly music? Huh?

I thought it was real funny.

Who's in the detached, three-story purple unit with no windows or doors? No one yet, but it's only a matter of time. Prince was scheduled to arrive three years ago after his faulty memory made him forget to record a single on 13 straight albums. He's been holed up without sleep at Paisley Park ever since, recording like a madman and furiously scrawling down names for his next side project

lol

Are you saying that Prince doesn't belong in the home because TMBITW was a hit in 1994?

You realize that this was a joke. smile Prince isn't really holed up scrawling names of possible side projects. big grin

I read the other day that Possaessed's style is a cross between National Enquirer and The Wall Street Journal.

Just for that, I'd be a masochist to read it.
