David Sylvian to open own "Music Club"

For Prince-Fans Sylvian is known as the husband of singer/poetrist/actor Ingrid Chavez who played Aura in the motion picture "Graffity Bridge".

After Prince, Peter Gabriel and many other musicians, now David Sylvian is to open his website where fans can get his new solo album "blemish" in april.
It is the debut release for his own samadhi sound label and will be available exclusively from davidsylvian.com.
The compositions were crafted from improvisational sessions captured live in the studio. Working almost entirely alone david has created an emotionally raw, minimal work, of immediacy and stark beauty.

The website opens in April, anyone who is interested can subscribe the newsletter under http://www.davidsylvian.com

This is good news David Sylvian is totally bonkers musically with some would say (not me) a crap voice but at least he is out there doing his own music in his own style and accountable to know one but himself.

Occasionally he produces music which is touched by genius, more power to him!

Great news.

Sylvian is the most accomplished musical creator to have come out of pop with the exception of some little guy from Minneapolis. Prince and Sylvian have been my two favourite artists for nearly 20 years now, and I found it really odd when he married Chavez. If you want to compare Prince and Sylvian you can check out how they both dealt with Ingrid on her solo album (handful of Prince tracks) and on the 2CD 'I Surrender' single from Sylvian, featuring four tracks with Chavez, originally intended for a mini-album

I Totally agree, both my favourite artists too! Apparently they have never met even with the Ingrid link and the fact that they both lived in Minneapolis!

Anyway another album to look forward to until 'something big', it's gonna be a good year :0)

"Blemish"? Isn't that a bit of an odd name for a solo album? confuse
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

For over 20 years they are my two favourite artists as well. It is hard to imagine that Prince and Sylvian haven't met. Tommy Babarella plays on his last album. Prince and Sylvian that would make for a great colaboration. I am looking forward his new album. This is really good news. I believe his brother and former Japan drummer Steve Jansen is colaborating with his David on the new album.

Wait a sec..., are we all talking about the same David Sylvian that was the lead singer for the legendary New Wave/Synth-pop group, Japan? I had no idea he was married to Ingrid Chavez.
