Prince not at Belgian Beach Rock Festival In the Belgian newspaper De Standaard there was a short article on the cancellation of the Beach Rock Festival that took place every year at the beginning of the summer on the beach.
After last year's success with closing act David Bowie, the organizers started looking for a big act for 2003. Long story short, after long negotiations, Prince drew back and because of the fact that they can't get a decent act, they decided to cancel the festival, which is a shame, because it was one of the best in Belgium imho. Now that we know he DID negotiate with festival organizers here in Belgium and almost certainly also with the people behind Glastonbury, maybe there are other places he might or might not show up... One can never know. Prince on Beach Rock would have been joy fantastic, THAT I can tell ya. Peace to all orgers, who put a smile on my face every single day! 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

Prince seems to have a problem performing at festivals. Remember all the rumours of the Woodstock Hendrix Tribute? That´s why I never believe he will perform again. Maybe he was afraid of using his ONA setlist (more intimate and smooth) in front of an audience of non-fans. Too bad...I wish I could see P performing there

for the people who don't understand why Prince might be "blacklisted" (that means you, laurarichardson) in the music industry, this is exactly the kind of thing i'm talking about (from another thread).

The sad thing about this story is that Beach Rock couldn't find any decent acts bcause they r driven out of the market by ClearChannel, the big entertainment company. After their monopoly in the US, they r taking over the European market also. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

Oh for crying out loud. Have you ever been to PukkelPop? It's the LAST place Prince should perform. Prince doesn't belong on festival stages in the first place. © Bart Van Hemelen
