Prince tracks heard at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival

just got back from the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, a 3 day free event @ Heart Plaza in downtown Detroit featuring 73 electronic artistz from around the world.... the 1 n only Kenny Dixon Jr. (aka as Moodyman) graced his hometown folx w/ a surprise DJ set, he as not on the scheduled bill. he often dropz "weird/obscure" Prince trax in his setz n he didnt disappoint 2nite when he spun the 12" version of Andre Cymone/Prince'z "Dance Electric"~~it was crazy seeing thousandz of folx from the world over throwin down 2 this joint outside on a beautiful nite along the detroit river. totally unexpected and just the thing 2 hilite a perfect day of funk! i havnt heard that blazin trak in 2long. i was singin along 2 it n many dancerz around me were lookin @ me funny cuz no1 seemd 2 recognize the kut, sum1 evn asked me if this was a song off the new Prince lbum....

also...the legendary Roots crew threw down!!!! hiphop 2 the highst level. b4 their 1st song, they did the introductionz 2 the melody of "Darling Nikki".

n let me tell u...?uestlove bangd out a drum solo 2 rival Sheila E's in Sign Of The Times. i heavily doubt Prince would ever ask him 2 officialy join his band, but it would b truly musical bliss 2 hear a collaboration btween them both~~ perhapz a duetz lbum with P on the Xperimental jazz guitar tip> totally freestylin like Coltranes "Interstellar Space" lbum. yeah, they should record a sequel!!!! with the DEMF this weekend n the Prince Celebration comin up, i m in musical heaven.
