I was not that keen on Rave-but not because I didn't like it-if somebody else had released I would have thought it was brilliant-but knowing what P saya he stands for and the avant gardness he can bring the whole project just sounded cyncical-and he did walk away with 11 million dollars. ultimately if P released shit for the rest of his life i would probably buy it just on off chance and even his worst would probably give something better to listen to. he will never be repeated and that is a completely addictive concept.
People do "the bootleg thing" because we love the music, want as much as we can get, and are willing to pay for art that is, for whatever reason, not available through the Club, even without The Slavemasters running things...

This is a good point, losers Oh YEAH, that's a great fucking point. Since when has Prince become so thin skinned and meek that he would cave into "what we wanted"..??? You've got to be kidding. These are the same people who are convinced that Larry Graham "brainwashed" him into becoming a Witness. Prince has almost always done EXACTLY what HE wanted to do. Apologists for him attempt to blame others (whether it's bootleggers, record execs, unsatisfied club members, Larry, his ex-wife) whenever he does something that they find unacceptable or strange. Prince is one of the most single-minded individuals i can think of. To think that he would whack the Club because he's catching a little static is absurd. Besides, he needs our money and our support...now more than ever.

It is really amazing to see how uptight many people are when it comes to Prince. My advice chill out and wait. Finally you will see what will happen to the club.
During the xenophobia celebration this year I had the strong impression that Prince really enjoys the music club. He even said how thankful he was that the members stuck with him, going through the thick and the thin. ¡See the world as it is and not the way you want it to be!

Well said 7 and Lady...I agree with you. Most of us here have been fans for years. It amazes me that people are STILL suprised by his actions. We all know he doesn't have any great publicity people or agents...he seems to make most of his decisions on his own. Granted...they aren't always the best decisions...and he can be slow with things...BUT at least he is trying. Of course we want more...most fans will NEVER be satisfied. The more he gives, the more they will expect. Bottom line: If you are not satisfied...DON'T renew your membership. If you can't afford it...DON'T renew your membership. You do have a choice here people...JUST SAY NO! (or are you that addicted) Where is the Leno discussion??? If U set your mind free, baby, maybe U'd understand...
