Report on Tori Ruffin (The Time) radio interview I had a great one hour interview with Tori Ruffin tonight on my "Upper Room"
show. The talented singer, guitarist, songwriter spoke on a variety of subjects. His new Cd, "Juicemaker" from his band Freakjuice is slamming. Picture funk, heavy guitar, a little jazz, and some great lyrics. He is doing about six dates in the next few weeks in Northern and Southern California. Much funk and Tori even wrote a song on it. Terry Lewis played a major role in organizing it and Jimmy Jam is also on the record.
even plays on a track and jams with Tori on it. Tori said he really wants the record to get out and hopes the distribution gets settled. They want to do many new tracks live in concert. Tori enjoyed working on the Rave special and said talking, jamming, and hanging out with , Maceo. Larry, and the MPLS crew was a big highlight. He said rehearses his band 13 hours a day and has his hand in all the operations.
Tori wonders if ever sleeps.
