It's not a misunderstanding,
It's just princes humor.

Just shows how something said in jest can be completely misunderstood. I'm firmly planted in denial

Yep. Prince was joking and something got lost in the translation.
But I love the name of the newspaper: dagblad.

Prince wants to buy nighttown
november 1, 2002 Is it a coincidence that Prince chose Nighttown for his only ‘aftershow’ [quotes by newspaper – Alf] in th Netherlands, tomorrow night after his performance in Ahoy? No way, because the American pophero (44) is very charmed by the club in Rotterdam. Even so that His royal badness told Dutch fans in Paris he wanted to buy ‘that cool joint’, after which Candy Dulfer might act as a ‘playing captain’. Prince stated this after questions had been asked about the high entrance fare for the night concert, hundred euro excluding 3.86 euro reservation. “That money will might enable me to buy Nighttown”, says the excentric singer-guitarplayer, who’s allready an experienced club-owner in his hometown Minneapolis. CO Harry Hamelink of Nighttown is a little afraid to take the Prince’s plans seriously, but realises that his ‘high guest’ likes the club at the West-Kruiskade. “At his first visit here in 1998, Prince felt very at ease, so much that his management always kept in touch. It didn’t surprise me that he and his band blew off some steam after the october 15 concert and to let us know he wanted to give the extra show, says Hamelink. “What did surprise me was that the entire entourage still new our staff after four years. That’ll only happen if people really get along”. That was the again case two weeks ago, because while Prince didn’t play, he did stay around untill 6 a.m. After the band enjoyed themselves, everybody sat down and listened to some tapes, like a bunch of new kids on the block (yes pun intended – Alf) listening to their fist recordings. What will happen tomorrow night in Nighttown will evolve gradually, knows Hamelink. “Every aftershow is different. Last week in Paris, Prince showed up at half past one, but jammed on till past five a.m. But there have been aftershows which lasted a lot shorter. Just depends on the mood the man is in.” [ the rest just mentioned how the tickets were sold etc. and that 100 tickets were left for people at the door, after all NPGMC members turned up] You don't scare me; i got kids

All i want to know is, what kind of DIPSHIT asks a question like "Why r the tix to this show 100 Euro?"
The answer in Princes mind of course would have been "Because u lovely people pay it to come and see me, and if u think it is too expensive , u can just fuck off"
