Instead of looking at it as a tribute & honouring the ARTIST (PRINCE in this case) u just say horrible things.

Mariah Carey, Darren Hayes...it's just so demoralising when 'adult contemporary' artists cover Prince

if they really want to "honour the artist" they can start by recognising that they're not in his ball park

if Darren wants something to cover he should look to Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, that's more his style

Insatiable and Strange Relationship just share the title that's all!! they're entirely new songs, and his album isn't half so bad
He offers the same things as P if u join his fanclub, acces 2 soundchecks (u get a special soundcheck card sent home!!) and lots of other goodies...
And let's just wait and hear how this cover of I wish u heaven sounds like ....
he is afterall a huge prince fan!

He also had a hit withy a song inspired about Prince and Mayte - something that Prince once said that - he had dreamed Mayte into his life - loving her before even ever meeting her...

I remember when Savage Garden first came out in 1997, I hated them. Back then I wasn't into different styles of music, though.It took me a long time to appreciate their style. After awhile I really liked them, and now love his new album, especially the b-sides and live stuff that is hard to find. He's great to his fans, very nice, funny and down to earth, Prince isn't all that friendly. Darren has a beautiful voice and is a great songwriter. I understand why some peopl might not like him but there is nothing he has done that I've had to "skip" over, especially since going solo. He admires really great musicians that I happen to love as well, which is probably why I enjoy his music. There are a couple songs on his new album, Spin in which he has a short line of music or a lyric that I believe is tributizing Prince. Not copying him, but it tells me that Darren is saying "I like Prince" hehe I am in his Fan Club as well and can't wait to hear "I Wish You Heaven" and am hoping he will come to the US for his tour.
