Hamburg Show Review (Hamburger Abendblatt)

Unfortunately I don´t have the time to translate this, so take it as a service for the German speaking visitors...
But we ourselves witnessed the show and it was F A N T A S T I C !
Afterwards Prince and Maceo showed up at the MOJO Club, just posing - no Show.

It is not saying very much. The usual bla bla bla.. To make it short:

Prince has his very own style, that not everyone is in favour of. But once he enters stage everything is forgotten. With this best ever in Hamburg performance delivered a perfect 2.5 hour set.

With his very first announcement he made sure the audience was understanding this is not a "Purple Rain style Best of" Tour, it is 2002. The first half hour he went back to the 70ies having Candy and Maceo with him. A prince fan of the first hour said "Fusion..." showing her dislike.
But the evening was well thought out Prince worked his way through the different styles of Jazz and Pop, Funk and Soul.

At the end of the 150min he nevertheless played those "old" standards including Purple Rain.

Having read that poor article I think I will start being a music journalist soon, can't be that difficult wink

You are welcome smile I also translated this article " Frankfurt review ("Die Welt", german newspaper)" to be found in the concert section. The ones who posted there said the review is the best they read for a long time.
