On MSNBC.com today, there is a blurb about Prince in "The Scoop" section of their entertainment news.

It says that Prince was photographed in London, and got angry with his security team. He reportedly said "he could have had a gun..what do I employ you for?". Here's the link:

What really sucks is that this is MSNBC picking up on this fake story.
You would think that a mainstream news reporting operation would get its news from good sources.
You would also think that they have more important news to report than Prince having a hissy fit.

First of all, the story is totally bogus...Prince was in Toronto...he is NOT in Europe (London) and he doesnt have an entourage or group of security,,,he usually travels with one or two other guys and thats all..I am from Toronto and the week that he was supposedly in London, I spotted him in TO at the Film Festival for Denzels new movie ANtwone...the man travels but c'mon he doesnt get around that fast...plus he goes on tour in Europe in October...i'd think he would be either in MN or Toronto preparing for his tour and the pic that they posted earlier was totally not him..it sucks that people need to make up these lies to make him look bad...Prince doesnt believe in using weapons, none of his security carry guns etc...and he wouldnt make a comment out loud like that in public...that is crzy

As I stated yesterday, the picture and story in the UK are fake. I also can't believe that MSNBC picked this up. Don't they have anyone verifying their stories?? He was in Toronto for the festival. I'm sure the rest of the world will never know this story is bullshit and he will get slammed once again for something that is totally untrue.

By all accounts, MSNBC is on the verge of closing shop, and here's an example of why. They may well be off the air before they have a chance to do anything with this "story."

If they do air it, well, I guess the 28 people watching MSNBC will be misinformed.

how do we get msnbc to apologize to prince for allowing a 'fake' story from a tabloid 2 b perpetuated as true by what most consider 2 b a very reliable news source? i don't care when the tabloids do it, but msnbc! wtf!!!

This story is BULLSHIT!! the guy in question WAS NOT PRINCE!! Someone posted the picture of this guy and he totally doesn't look like him. You know what I think? This is the WB's doing!! They hired this guy to go out dressed up like Prince and staged it so Prince would get "Bad press" right before going on tour in Europe and right before releasing a live CD which Prince refused to do for WB!! It makes sense people!! Think about it! Why would MSNBC pick up on this tabloid story?
