New Rolling Stone article on Rave The RollingStone.com news item entitled "Superstar
Shopping Spree" contains a mention of Rave. The full article is available at: http://rollingstone.tunes...istID=3082 The mention is as follows:
The season's biggest question mark hangs over Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, by the Artist, who in past years retreated from the mainstream, releasing modestly successful albums online and in select retail outlets. Now, after entering into a new licensing agreement with Clive Davis' Arista Records, the Artist has returned - but some retailers wonder whether the reclusive singer is committed to selling the release. "Every single time, we're told he's going to tour, make great videos, release singles," says Joe Kvidera, manager of a Tower Records store in Chicago. "Then he [only] sells 80,000 copies his first week, he cancels his tours and goes back to Minneapolis to pout. So I'll believe it when I see it." Believe it, insists Rick Wilcoxen, vice president of national sales at BMG, which distributes Arista. "He's out performing, he's working on the video," Wilcoxen says. "He's done everything he's been asked to do. He's in this for real." | |
