This info is wrong. Motorhead and Anthrax play at the Zenith in Paris, France, on October 29th : http://www.le-zenith.com/entree.htm

Why a long face...this tour is happening (no reason it shouldn't), this isn't Milli Vanilli.

Moorcheeba are playing Birmingham Acadamy on Oct 2nd..?? The Acadamy 2 venue is more of a club than a live music venue.

Dear Friends,

I don't know if that has been circulating, yet.
Anyway that may be interesting for all friends in Germany:
I have bought some tickets for a Maceo Parker concert (they say he will promote his forthcoming CD) who is going to play in Neustadt (South/West Germany) on October 19th. Looking at the tour dates for Prince it may lead to the possibility of them two playing together in some venues. Let's see if that's is going to happen...

Peace

I spoke to Konserthuset in Oslo and they are definitely saving October 22. for Prince (or The Artist, as the woman was calling him - ain't that sweet?).

She said that the date wasn't 100 % confirmed yet, just that they expected the CONcert to happen.

Now - I also rang the promoter Gunnar Eide and he just lauged when I asked about it. Apparently, Prince has asked for a new date in December(!) now, but that the date in October is still reserved.

The guy said that he's booked all Prince's concerts in Norway since 1988 and that "There's nothing to do about guys like him. We're told we'd be given final notice today, but we've heard that for weeks now. Most likely, we won't know before a few weeks ahead of time. He says jump, and we jump."

He sounded tired, the poor fella.

So there you have it. A bit of anti-in4mation from me.

Soulpower, are you sure Maceo is joining Prince. I have checked Maceo's site and also from his most recent newsletter there is no news about this (although maybe he can't say anything til it's announced on npgsite...) but I don't think he's going to be promoting a new album yet, the newsletter said watch for news for new album next year and that he has moved his tour apart from a small one to next year also...
I would love to see Maceo as part of this show, in fact that would be one of my main reasons, does anyone know any more than this???

Woohoo!!

Looks like he is going for fairly small venues - Manchester Appollo will be AMAZING-real up close and personal compared to Maine Road or MEN Arena. Gotta get there (or maybe Clyde Auditorium?...)
wonder what the prices are gonna be like?

From this I'd say that the 5th looks unlikely.
It looks like there is normally a day or 2 between performers. I guess it's time to set up the stage and do soundchecks.
Either Mary Black needs no time to set up, or this date will probably change !?

well guys, dont expect every venue to confirm anything yet! it depends on the venue's policy if the give out confirmation or not. as I said, Berlin and some scandinavian dates have been confirmed already. so dont panic, just relax! if the whole tour doesnt get cancelled for some obscure reason, this schedule will be pretty much it! I give my word for it (again, slight chances might always happen)

Erm, it may sound obvious but there's no gap between Bad Company on the 20th and Iyanla Vanzant on the 21st.

If its a minimalist stage set then I can't see it being a problem as soundchecks invariably happen in the afternoon anyway. Venues normally clear for the next event by 12.00am-1.00am.

Either way, I wish everyone would stop guessing, speculating, and panicking and just wait for the official annoucement !

Mr7

Birmingham Academy have e-mailed me to confirm that Prince will not be playing on Oct 2nd. Morchebba are taking up BOTH venues.

Cardiff CIA also confirmed by telephone that Prince is definetly not playing there.

Why exactly does the booker believe the whole tour is cancelled?
Oh well. Just wait.
Maybe Soulpower has some fresh comments?

i think this is misinformation. i checked with both birmingham academy and NEC birmingham and they both have different performers that night.
i think we shouldn't get too excited here folks. shit, it like it's Dubya inleashing armaggedon on us. now that's something to really worry about.
