If you look at the NPGMC message at the end of August all the clues are there. Members will be served first...the public will be serviced at a later date. Nowhere was it ever said the live cds would be part of the membership package of pre-paid cds.
I just wonder if the 3 cd version will only be available on the NPGMC site & the 2 cd version will be what is sold in stores. That was his idea with RAVE - one version for stores with a special alternate version available thru his site. But he couldn't pull it off that time - maybe this time he will. Because what would be the enticement to order the cds thru the mail when the mailing costs have been a little pricey in the past unlees what you get thru the mail is different then what you buy in the stores. Or maybe it will be the 3 cd set with something extra.
Can't wait to find out!

no disrespect to frossty, but you can't take any of this too seriously. information like this floats through the biz quite regularly. if we all look at this logically, we might be able to predict what is in store for us...

when the word got out to the press about a live album by prince, a buzz was created. this happens because reporters need something to talk about. they get the story, print it and create this buzz...

now following these momentary hypes, other folks start having lightbulbs go off over their heads. ways they can cash in on this new idea, and in turn, make it something that it wasn't meant to be in the first place... in short, they have delusions of grandeur.

i think, that if prince were to step back and really look at the prospect of trying to sell this live cd to a mass market, he would reconsider. don't get me wrong. i think the cd is gonna be da bomb, but i don't think that this was the tour that the rest of world will rush to buy...

and that's too bad, cause the ona tour was great!!! unfortunately, it was a "jukebox with a heartbeat". this was great for those who appreciate the good stuff, but the average public is so far gone that i doubt they would notice...

so, where does that put us now? back to the buzz. i feel that prince should just send this cd to club members as a PART of the remaining year. (he needs to keep the npgmc happy). that would also keep the journalists writing about all the great "groudbreaking" things he's accomplishing with the club and in terms of how he gets his music out. this would be way more beneficial to him and also, the buzz would remain...

then, he should sell the rest. i'm sure that there is a company out there that would put it out, even if only in limited supply. if the current company considering distribution is so concerned that we members are the only guaranteed buyers, then what's the point in releasing it to the public...

by sending us the cd, it would also show the rest of the world that his club does work. he'd still make a little cash on the deal (probably only a little less than if we all had buy it), the npgmc would remain in tact, and he'd be free to move on to other endeavors...

If Prince is going to keep what he has then he needs to make some real cash. Obviously he does not have enough NPGMC Members to go a year without getting paid. I think the Hit & Run Tour and The Rainbow Children Tour helped keep the cash flow going. HE NEEDS A RECORD COMPANY to promote a live album and make the money he should be making. Otherwise I imagine his overhead is way too much to handle. Look a P Puff Diddy Daddy and others who have much bigger bank and much less talent.
Now that Prince has come to terms with what he can and cannot do as a free artist, I support whatever he does in the future.
After the Crystal Ball Pre-Order Experience I was not about to join the NPGMC. And you know what? I may not of had the exclusive music of NPGMC as quick, but I got it free from downloading it off the NET.
If a new Prince Album is available in the Record Stores I always buy it. CD and LP vinyl copy. Even if I can get it free off the net.
Prince needs to Release recordings through record companies with great non-stop promo agreements and Forget the Music Club as it is now.

..oh, and it appears our reliable source 'frossty' joined just to submit this 'news...' he/she has never posted before...

...Not only that, but if you remember...in the email from the NPGMC, they advised "...to check your email box, and your doorstep real soon" in regards to the "ONA...LIVE!" set. Don't believe this shit... we will as members get at least that set sent to us without additional charges.

And, as far as calling it "free"...I seem to remember sending them $100.00, so nothing is free with them.

And, just a side note...he did promise "at least 4 CD's" as part of the membership. This agreement is not for only 3 more after "One Nite Alone" piano CD, but at the very least 3 more. It could, and probably will, be more then that.

I'm not going to get angry or impatient with NPGMC, the album set will arrive soon I'm sure, but there are just a few things I hope and wonder about.

One, I HOPE Prince really chooses good artwork and packaging! No more Parke, he's worn out!

Two, yeah, by now I should have recieved another album. That's kind of starting to bother me. Like there was no plan set forth or dates for things to eventually come out. Just vagueness.

I guess it may all be just cool later, but, I'm not going to be patient and just wait, unless the year runs out and I DON'T HAVE what I PAID FOR!!!

The official Prince NPGMC release statement calls the live album "ONE NITE ALONE LIVE".

Why believe a message that gets the album title WRONG for starters? Where is the sense in calling the live "ONE NITE ALONE" tour recording "XENOPHOBIA", especially when another album called "Xenophobia" is in the pipeline?

I nearly became a member of the NPGMC but I was worried that this sort of thing may happen. "One Nite Alone" is fantastic, got it the 1st week of circulation. Rainbow Children £9.99 the week it came out in U.S (why join?)

Until I hear good reports I'm not going 2 "become a member of the N.PG" Even though I have bought over 100 official c.d's from my favourite musical artist.

Xenophobia sounds like a 3 disc set 2 keep a promise, although maybe I'm just having a bad day at work... No, I am looking forward 2 it... I can't see this set being released as well as 3 other albums.

Prince must get tired 2...

Even if Xenophobia is released in the shops they won't be our shops (England). Just like sun the rainbow children forgot 2 be released in the U.K (warner bros were good to the fans)
