Prince Mentioned in Liz Smith column

In Yesterday's column, Liz Smith talked about Prince in reference to the Michael Jackson "drama". Here is the link: http://www.newsday.com/ne...l09.column

And here is what she said:
IT'S SIMPLY terrific that after 30 years plus in the music biz, Michael Jackson has decided that certain artists - especially himself - are getting a raw deal, and something must be done about it. (I know Michael would be just as upset if his album "Invincible" hadn't proved to be less than that on the charts.)

I am just surprised Michael hasn't persuaded Mariah Carey to join him as he throws down his gauntlet. After all, she had her problems with Sony's big man, Tommy Mottola, whom Michael describes as "racist." Or how about Prince; he's a freedom fighter, too - remember his long rebellion against Warner Records?

Maybe Michael, Mariah and Prince should get together on an album and show the world. I'd certainly buy it!

Can someone please confiscate Liz Smith's laptop? That record idea is EVIL.

I can't agree with the line "I know Michael would be just as upset if 'Invincible' hadn't proved to be less than that on the charts".
If that record was a smash, you wouldn't be hearing a peep out of MJ! He never bitched before when his records were selling a gazillion copies.
And he's just making matters worse for himself with all the personal attacks on Mottola. It makes him look like a complete lunatic. Um, I mean a bigger lunatic than he looked like before.

I totally agree... He's got a hidden agenda, and it's completely self serving. There was a quote i read previously..."smoke and mirrors".

I've never heard nor read that Michael has ever called anyone a racist, Everything about michael has been universal, not saying anything bad about anyone or any one's race. So for Michael to say that someone is a racist, then maybe michael has something to say, To say he is upset because his record is not selling is logical, and could be true, but michael's record says otherwise, instead of ruling the quote as bitterness, maybe it should at least be considered. To find the Truth we must look from all angles.
How you gonna get my back when you fronting.
