'Demo'??
Curious, why did they use that word? I guess we'll find out (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Yeah! One Night Alone! I wonder if Xenophobia will be available before the Celebration. Now, hasn't this been a windfall year for Prince fans?

btw, we should keep in mind that the 2001 members of the club have heard 4 songs off this CD already. So anyone worried about that "demo" word just need to think back to those MP3s. They were finished songs and sounded excellent. I suspect that he used the word demo because they may one day turn into songs that have a full band arrangement. And that him playing them just on a piano with minimal studio additions is his way of doing an "unplugged" kind of set, just for us.

Maybe he’s ‘demonstrating’ what we’ll next be able to buy through the shops – there could be hope for us economically-challenged non-members yet?!

Where did you read that four of the 2001 songs are included? (You´re probably right, I just haven´t seen it myself)

That's what the e-mail for the January edition of the NPGMC said. A Case of U, Here on Earth, One Nite Alone and U're gonna C me were demos from the forthcoming One Nite Alone album.

I was hoping it would be one of the other discs first, cos this one we already knew about. I bet the next one will be Xenophobia too.

Probably reffered to as "demo" because back in January they said the recording's were from late night recordings during the mastering of "The Rainbow Children".

Just him alone.

So there probably isn't as much production going on like there would have been on a regular project.

So it would be safer to call it a demo.

cause you know there will be a bunch of people crying:

"It's just him and the piano"
"what's all this spoken sh*t,"
"I don't want to be preached at"
"where is the guitar?"
"It's just a bunch of ballads"
"Who engineered this? I can hear him stamp on the piano's pedals"

wah!

No they weren't. Try listening to the lyrics, do they sound "finished" to you?

Man, there are tons of Prince songs with lyrics that sound unfinished.

I have to agree with you Bart. The cd is called a "demo" because with the exception of A Case of You, all the other songs sound very much like a "demo" to me too. And I'm not complaining, but while it's clear that Prince put a great deal of effort into those tracks, there are definitely parts of the songs that do in fact sound unfinished to me. So it's called a demo because Prince knows that's exactly what it is. But, again, I'm not complaining because I believe that getting access to songs like this is exactly what being a member is all about. Almost anybody who is a member of the club would most certainly plop down $50 bucks for a bootleg that has a bunch of other songs we may already have just to get one or two of the ONA songs if the bootleg was the only way to get them. So yeah, I'll gladly give my money to Prince and know that I'm getting goods directly from "the source". Wouldn't you?

they said the prince CDs will B the kind U find N stores I am expecting a Full Legnth Album of piano and spoken word ie poems n such and I think PPL will B dissapointed if thats not what they recieve. I don't expect(but I will probably get) An Unfinished CD that I probably wouldn't waste my time downloading off the internet. Then I will have 2 buy the good version N a 4 CD set in December of the Finished version complete with bonus trax. I hope I get a quality CD. If not he should really tells what is really going on so we don't have 2 pay twice 4 everything. Like RAVE and RAVE special edition. The Special Edition Sucked but U really don't know what U're getting until U get screwed. Sorry felling bitter 2day. I wish he was just more up front with us . Tired of smashed expectations. Think about it ?? How many times have U been excited from his ALBUM Hype then been dissapointed. Can any1 say Roadhouse Garden!

am i the only one who feels strange about the fact that we were offered a 4 cd deal and that previously released songs are now supposed to be included on these "new" cd's??
does anyone have a track list?

anyoneknow if we'll be able to buy this CD from the NPGOnline site individually or do we HAVE to join NPGMC to get it,I'm still not convinced $100 for 4 CDs is a good deal ,the other benefits (soundcheck attendances etc) arent a lot of good to me as I live so far away from where Prince normally tours in the UK anyway....
