All I'm saying is that he reportedly did not attend his parents' funerals. If that is so, and if it is so because of his beliefs, (and none of this is confirmed) then it is unlikely that he'd go to some one else's funeral.

All I asked for was the source of the report. That's all.

I was watching CNN all day yesterday and the reporter outside the church said that there had been reports that Prince was going to sing although it was not yet confirmed. I know he didn't sing but according to CNN he was set to be in attendance. However, I never heard anything about Prince being there at all after this so I would really like to know if he is was there. It would have been a nice thing to do.

Yes I too think its a fake because this user only joined the .org a few days ago. Plus I can`t think of the last time that Prince attended a service for someone.

Regarding whether or not Prince attended his parents funeral...is no business of ours...a highly personal matter. IMHO

truth is Prince was spotted in Mpls wednesday night clubbing at a wellknown spot so he must've caught "a red eye flight" if he indeed attented the funeral on thursday mornin...

Prince was in the the studio late Wednesday nite/early Thursday morning, then went 2 sleep 4 5 hours and hit the Park again Thursday evening - remaining 'til the following day. Midnite oil burnin' like this means there's new grease in the skillet!

Every news report I heard about the funeral never mentioned Prince as one of the celebrities there.

Maybe he wuz there but kept a low profile - or maybe he just didn't want 2 B bothered with all the cameras & hype.

Whatever.

All I know is that there is NO WAY that ANY religion/cult/organization/institution is going to be keeping ME back from going to MY parents' funeral, EVER. For ANY reason!

God bless her family.....life loss at a young age is very hard for the ones who are still here.

JW's belief isn't that you're not allowed to attend a funeral. It's more generally being disallowed from enterting another church other than a Kingdom Hall. This covers of course not going to weddings, or any other activity or ceremony another church might have. It's part of their cultish brainwashing techniques keeping their dummmies (or followers) segregated. This is also demonstrated in their refusal to pledge allegiance to the flag, enter the military or fight in a war. I find it unbelievable that Prince did not attend his own parents' funeral!! That is absolutely absurd (if it's true).

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and once again I feel compelled to post something to correct misinformation about us and our beliefs.
First and foremost - we are NOT a cult and NOT "prohibited" from attending a funeral, nor are we "disallowed" from "entering a church to keep us "segregated". When people write stuff like that I can only think of two words: Ignorance and/or Slander
Attending a funeral is a very personal decision (no matter what religion a person is).
Before I attend a funeral I want to know a little about what kind of service it's going to be (customs, rituals, prayers and traditions vary so much among religions and in other countries). For example, I would not feel comfortable attending a funeral where those attending were expected to take part in rituals, prayers and/or ceremonies that bothered my conscience, made me feel like a hypocrite, or worse yet made me feel at odds with my relationship with Jehovah God or my spiritual brothers and sisters.
The point is - no one is telling us what to do! We believe that we all stand before our Creator as individuals and will have to answer to him in the end for our decisions and course of life
I know all too well that some people around here are just looking for reasons to portray Jehovah's Witnesses as a brainwashed cult - and I'm not writing this for them, because I've come to realize that some people just want to hate. Rather, I am writing this for those around here with good and kind hearts who want to know the truth about us.

U know I really don't know what makes the next man feel bad but I can tell u this much I don't care if they were holding it in a lion's den I would make it my business to attend my loved one's funeral/ homegoing service or whatever you want to call it.
