A french funk singer called Sinclair made a song called 'mon idole' (my idole) that i was sure was about Prince. (he basically sings that even P's music is out of fashion, he still loves the way he danced, wears golden chains and weaes make up).
During a recent show at a music festival (le Printemps de Bourges, http://www.printemps-bourges.com/), Sinclair asked the crowd who they think the song was about, and then sang right away 'when doves vry', admiting that yes, it was about Prince (and also Sly, Mick Jagger and Stevie Wonder).
Another funky singer that loves the P influence i guess!

Sinclair was a big Prince fan, back in the days. He went to see every concert in Paris from Sig O The Times to New Power Soul. No surprise here. Sinclair loves Sly, JB, Lenny, and Steevie too. Sinclair is cool.

Actually, everytime I listened to that song I wasn"t sure Sincair was singing about Prince.

The thing is that he's talking about a singer who used to drink too much and did drugs...
