Dear Friends...who attempted to attend The NewPowerDetroit Launch Party "The DownLoad Ball", On April 12th, We are very very sorry for any inconviences due to the managers "f-up" at Club Cobalt in ferndale, For Months we planned this event and hyped it to be a very BIG DEAL!

We {NPD} hoped 4 a huge Celebration of sorts !!!finally!!! 4 Detroits Official Monthly "Prince" Dance Party each Month on every 3rd friday...}}}

Well Guess What!? We Got Screwed Big Time!
The Managers Dj Bill Bennett and Neil, even the bar manager Tony, were well aware of our "Prince" Parties each month and somehow they forgot that the party was happening, Is this some bogus B-S or What!?

We are truly sorry for this "f-up" on their behalf, its not our faults they didn't remember to meet the staff and dealers of the special memorabilia show we had planned for U!

Even a few special performances were in the mix... We {NPD} are truly and deeply sorry for all of this...
Good People don't deserve to be stabbed in their backs and after months of planning and limit-less promoting to make sure the club was packed... We feel as if this was all for nothing...

Prince is a musician that we infact love and respect for his art!
He has given us all one thing if nothing else, and thats to have positivity in our lives and stay focused and know that we can beat the enemy and continue to follow the light!

This has been a test for NPD and Once again we thank everyone for coming out to show us support including The Detroit Crawl.Org, and Monoco Of Chi-Town and Those who Traveled from Ann Arbor, Ohio, Canton and Canada... not to mention the Detroit Area!

Words can't describe how deeply sorry we are for this major "f-up"...
At 7:50pm NPD Arrived as agreed upon w/ the Managers Bill and Neil,
To begin setting up for the Launch/Memorabilia Show. Soon after a half hour passed and no bartenders or staff present we NPD began worrying and not sure what to do, so we attempted to contact Bill Bennett via Cell phone and learned his number was out of service, a voicemail for the club was on, and we e-mailed the managers and staff, still no sign of them, we even contacted information to get a residential number and no listings...
At 9pm, still no one, a few famz has shown up at this point and we began explaining why the party hadn't started, they were very understanding and wanted to stick around to see if there was gonna be a party still!?

We tried everything and No Luck...so we contacted "Boogie Fever" a dance club near by and spoke w/ the managers there, they were very helpful and allowed us to party w/ them, but they couldn't transform there night into a "Prince" Party... they would only play his music throughout the night, but I guess that was better than nothing! =/

So were very Thank-ful to Boogie Fever for allowing us to party like it was 1999- almost!
at least! urggh.....

Once Again, We are Truly and Deeply Sorry and Hope to Host The Launch/Memorabilia Show Soon at a more reliable Club!

After believeing in these guys and their club, its just sickening to actually think they were really good ppl!

Please join us in the near future...The Next Event from Newpowerdetroit will be on us!

Hey Guys, don't feel bad sh_t happens, there will be plenty of other times. Im sure most people understood it was not your fault. I myself have to say that I was very disappointed at first, (not angery). But I did meet a few new people at Boogie Fever and I saw some familiar faces that I had not seen in a while and threw out the night I enjoyed myself just being in the company of great Prince fans, still I did not meet Tor'e or Luna, maybe next time. Anyway dont give up try to plan something again real soon, I'll be there for anything Prince related, and Im sure everyone else will too! Im also from Detroit so I'll meet you guys one day.... It was disappointing that we didn't have ALL PRINCE MUSIC all nite long but it was cool that U came up with an alternative. We got 2 dance, party, mingle with friends & make new friends. C Ya next time!

Club Cobalt has been shut down for weeks, for serving to underage drinking and losing their liquor license. How did the organizers not hear this prior to the event?? ANyhow, I hope the party gets rescheduled at another bar soon!! That would be cool...Any info.????
