Q-tip to play Celebration? I saw on a local minneapolis website that Kamaal the Abstract (Q-tip) and his new band will be joining the Prince Celebration this June. I sure hope so because his new band is pretty nice and Ive always been a Abstract fan!

I left my wallet in El Segundo...
Anybody remember that one... By the way - I recall that Prince played on the Montreal (???) Jazz Festival last year, with Roy Hargrove on trumpet - are there any boots from that event??? I would just love to hear that!!! Fresh greetings to everybody

Well if that's true, that's ONE off my list. Go NPGMC! Now all you do is need to add at least Teena Marie & a Madhouse reunion, and I'll be happy. the new record is so nice. i`ve heared the promo-copy 24/7.
i`m sure you all will love this record - this is no hiphop - sounds more like prince vs. zappa with a funny voice.

NPS - he asked during soundcheck at Warner who should play and folks were yellin' for the 'House.

I don't know y'all, I'm a long time fan of Tip and Quest, but this new Kaamal stuff sounds like he should spend a few more years in the basement rehearsing before he releases the album. Not horrible, but too much of a departure from the music his fan base appreciates him for. He needs to realize that emceeing is where his strengths lie, and bring back Ali and Phife!

That would be cool to see Q-Tip at the Celebration.
What other "jazz-infused" artists have people recommended?

NPS - he asked during soundcheck at Warner who should play and folks were yellin' for the 'House. Heh, and his response to that was that "Madhouse never existed, it was a trick". In other words, he is Madhouse (for the most part). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Q-tip?
He needs De La Soul up there this year. They've worked with Maceo Parker in the past. I emailed them and said Cassandra Wilson. Didn't the NPGMC ask for jazz artists?
