Tori Ruffin Guitarist for the Time Praised in Vibe Mag

Tori Ruffin Has Been the gutiarist for the Time for the past seven Years. He recently did tour with Mike Franti And Spearhead In the US, and Australia. Vibe mag caught the show in Canada, and said that Tori was blazing and it felt like he was channelling Hendrix. {{{I caught the show In portland and he was amazing he seemed to have more freedom to do his own thing, instead of the Jessie Johnson style that he is locked into on the Time gig. Proving once again Prince and Morris only call on the best for their bands.}}} Check Tori's band freakjuice out at http://lamusic.com or http://cdbaby.com for some more hellacious guitar work!

Tori is a mean brother on the axe. Makes you miss Jesse sometimes because the Time hasnt lost anything with him filling in. Wish Jesse wiould get back on the scene. If you ever doubted how incredible he is on guitar, dig his last CD Bare My Naked Soul. Now THAT is channellng Hendrix if such a thing is possible...

...cause FACE said so!!!

Jesse rules, and i got to see him play Barenaked Soul at the Troubadour in LA in '94. He had about 20 guitars and really blew me away. He's a much better guitar player than Prince. I wish he would put something out someday soon. He must have been bored in The Time, it's pretty simple rhythm guitar with only a few guitar solos. Nothing like what I saw Jesse do solo.

I saw Jesse back in the 80s and I have seen Prince more times than I can count - most recently a week ago in Hollywood. I wouldnt go so far as to say Jesse is much better than Prince on guitar. I saw Prince do some work on guitar at the aftershow which was the most incredible playing I ever saw.

It is a matter of opinon of course. I would place it closer to a dead heat or even a little edge to Prince. Just my opinion though
