I don't know a whole lot about the cat but I don't really like the fact that Prince's main guy is a lawyer. I have a strong feeling that Londell is a big part of the reason Prince is so fixated on money. I think back in the day he had others worrying about the money which may have been a mistake financially but I wish all Prince had to worry about was making music. Maybe if he had a different cat around him he'd be more interested in the artistic part of music? Of course I could be completely wrong but I have an awful image in my mind of the two of them sitting down and counting a big pile of money!

You definitely have the wrong idea in your head. If any artist needed a lawyer, he is definitely the one to have. There are not many lawyers out there that care about artist's rights the way that he does. You really should check out the Artist Empowerment Coalition, at artistempowerment.org, a coalition that Prince inspired that seeks not only to perserve artist's rights but also perserve art, music, and culture in inner city communities.

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING STAY!!!!!

he was immensely involved in getting Prince out his Warner's deal...had a big part in the one up deals with EMI for Emancipation, Arista for Rave and this one with Sony for Musicology, allowing Prince to keep his masters on those projects and the bulk of the profits. I don't think Prince would be where he is NOW (as financially solvent) if it weren't for some of Londell's legal maneuvering. Prince is running the show, for sure, but when it gets down to the legalities and dotting "i's" and crossing "t's", Londell's the man.
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

Don't blame Larry. He cares about P like a brother. You can truely tell that P finally has the right people in his life. Not saying that the other people weren't good or great people, I'm just saying as a whole these are all very good mature people. Londell should definantely stay. Look at all of the positive things that they are doing together. The music industry doesn't know weather to take crap or wind their watches.

I was joking about Larry (everybody seems to blame him) lol . Larry seems like a personable/likable man.
As to Londell, I really admire him. He sometimes has heavy handed tactics, but I think that is what it takes to do his job. Prior to Londell, you had Prince running around with Slave written on his face and dropping less than mediocre albums. (Say what you want about Emancipation and everything subsequent, but I dig them all and they are much better than Chaos and Disorder and the like). In terms of business, it has definitely been nowhere but up since Londell showed up.

Red, I totally agree with you. Everything seems to be flowing so smoothly nowadays. He can concentrate on his music and trust everyone else to do what they are surpose to do. I think that it is great that he didn't forget about his past players and bandmates. Sheila E and the time opening some shows is a great thing. Its good to see that they are bigger than the business and they aren't going to let the business tear their friendship apart.
