Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis To Be Honored In LA

Producers and songwriters Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are to be honored by their peers in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy.

Jam and Lewis have created over 100 gold and platinum albums and had 16 number one hits in the USA. They have three Grammy Awards to their credit.

The hit songwriting and production pair have worked with Mary J. Blige, Pink, Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Lionel Richie over the years.

The ceremony will take place at a luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on June 8.

They will receive the Governors Award, the highest honor bestowed by the L.A. Chapter. It is awarded as recognition of an artist as an invaluable asset to the music community.

Earth Wind and Fire and Elmer Bernstein will also receive the award on the day.

Previous recipients on the honor include Herb Alpert, Glen Ballard, Carole Bayer Sager, Brandy, Natalie Cole, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Melissa Etheridge, David Foster, Janet Jackson, Jewel, Quincy Jones, Melissa Manchester, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Diane Warren, Don Was, and John Williams.

Oh yeah, why the hell is Brandy even there ahead of people like Teddy Riley! She is so annoying!
