I fell in love with my girlfriend with Wendy & Lisa songs. Stay was the one. Then I Think It Was December and then Don't Try To Tell Me...we broke up around that time of this song...then agfter listening to their first two albums (Love songs) again inspired me to go find here and we got together again...wierd huh? But songs sometimes really inspire you or translate what you feel.
I recently started to listen to their first solo album again. I felt like I was the only one listening or knowing of this great music. There's a timelessness in it. I think it shows such mood creation. I love the cover...Wendy's dress is so Greek like. The sunset colors...so LA. I love the love songs on Fruit At The Bottom. And yes Eroica...Turn Me Inside Out has that beautiful, take me away insturmental ending...oh boy, I used to just listen to that over and over and drive down 6th street with them beautiful sunsets...aaahhh. Living in Los Angeles, I've come across them a few times. I finally met Wendy at Glam Slam West in the American Music Awards aftershow. It was really cool to see Wendy & Lisa come into the club and pass by me (I was so excited) and then see Susanah and Sheila E. all hang out by the bar. Susannah was with Seal who was also there. I approached Wendy and she was super cool. I told her that Eroica was genius and she was really happy to here that. I mention Lisa's brother who I kinda knew through a friend and a band he was in named Raks Majnoun or something like that. Arabic style music. David Coleman played this electronic cello...it was a really interesting band, like Industrial Arabian music with Belly Dancers...this was in the early 90's. My friend actually had lunch with them and stuff. But never hooked me up. Oh well, my friend and I had a falling out (unrelated to this) so...whatever. But in that lunch which I think was David's birthday, they gave him a t-shirt that read "Lesbian stuck in a Man's Body" or something like that! I really like what they did to some of Seals songs. I'm listening to The Latest Craze like crazy right now...that guitar melody is just amazing...just in a few notes they just lift that song...and the bass line is fierce. I love the words, lyrics to live by...I wonder if they helped write that song? Let's see what other thoughts and experiences...hmmm...ah Lisa at a hardware store...Lisa at a super market on LaBrea...Susannah with Boyle at NAMM 2000...me and my doll talking with Susannah after the Roxy show in 1998. Seeing that show and then at the Guitar shop in Santa Monica...intimate show, very cool venue - a guitar shop with a small stage! Then seeing them hanging out outside of that. Oh, a show they did at Largo on Fairfax...that was great. Lisa was too funny. Acoustic show. I remember Wendy's hair looking really wild and cool. Closing of the Year...that last section were it gets funky, I mean really funky...it just shows that she may be the only woman, Wendy who really knows how to play REAL FUNK guitar...she's too on it! I think out does a lot of men really! Second to Prince! Whenever you hear a "funky guitar" riff it usually sounds lame and typical and generic but Wendy's got this touch, man! "Get off your knees and on your feet!" That's positivity! Get off...your knees...and ON YOUR FEET! OOOWWW! Thanks ladies! . I can recall being a lil' one back in '87, watching the "Waterfall" video for the first time on BET, which I thought was odd considering that it was BET & Wendy & Lisa were more pop if anything. I guess because of their lonstanding association with Prince, they got some play. I love that song. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Seems like the overly critical people are the sheep now days. It takes guts to admit that you like something. -Rdhull ...it ain't where ya from, it's where ya at... - Rakim

I agree completely. I also have to admit that I like Lisa's singing voice better, as well.
