Why do I always feel ashamed when browsing through this forum?

I know this forum states X girlfriends, but I always feel so uncomfortable because some people seem to want to know so many personal things about Prince and the ones he loved/loves.

I know there are many ways of worshipping a person and not all ways are mine, but am I the only one tired of reading all these "opinions" of (what I most often consider to be)lunatic fans that think they can and should talk about what goes on in somebody else's life?

I like to hear info about how songs came into life, but I do not have to know Prince wrote this sad song because someone threw a plate at his head or that angry song cuz he couldn't get any.

Isn't the music and thought he choses to share with us enough? And the music we stole from his vault?

I understand what your're saying and yes,it's wrong for people to be concerned with what goes on in a person's private life. But Prince is a famous person,so naturally there would be interest in his personal life and his girlfriends/wives too. That seems to be one of the pitfalls of being massively popular...suddenly,the media and your fans are interested in your personal life (just ask Ben and J-Lo...lol).

It's all good fun,and most of it is just silly gossip and hearsay.Prince has been in the biz for over 20 years,so I'm sure he's used to this kinda stuff.

Ok, but it's Prince who talks about Mayte, who puts pics of Mayte parents in Emancipation, and things like that.
It's normal we are interested in knowing if it's true the things he sings in Have a Heart, I love U but I don't trust U anymore, Silly Game, Strange but true (lyrics: every door that closes, another one opens: is he talking about Manuela?), and so on.

I realise he is what some describe as a public figure, but that does not mean it has to be an invitation to PRY.

Or even to call people you do not know names, like some here do.

Like I said, I realise everybody aproaches Prince differently, I just like to get into his music. And YES, I think it's funny to hear that some lyrical references point to this or that, but at the same time it makes me feel a voyeur.

This forum, like any other, is what people make it. It doesnt have to be a silly groupie page. The associated artists are great musicians: Jesse Johnson, Dez Dickerson, Chaka Khan, Larry Graham, Morris Day, Lenny Kravitz. etc. If you are talking about the music, there should be no guilt. If you are here to talk about who they are sleeping with or to bitch about them not doing what you want, then look at yourself again
