The Time What Time Is It? Vinyl reissue.

Anyone get the reissue of What Time Is it on vinyl.

If so how does the sound compare to an original vinyl copy.

I have a battered original so would like a better version of this great album.

Can't decide if to go for the reissue or risk getting a used copy.

Mint Originals seem to be more expensive than the reissue.

Well, they're only repressing and reissues, not remasters. Granted, it could sound better pressed again, but it didn't get a once over by Grundman or anyone else.

Oddly a few years ago, there was a remastered CD pressed for Japan. Suppose it's possible those tapes were used for the subsequent repressings (green RSD, etc), but nothing in the credits indicate that. However, the Japanese CD specifically note a pre-master credit.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I got it but haven't opened it yet. My record player can't do this justice. Need a new one.

I have the reissue and it sounds great to me, although I've never owned an original to compare. There are old posts on here suggesting it doesn't sound good compared to the original pressing because CD masters were apparently used, but I don't know whether that was verified as being the case.

It's worth getting for the visual appeal of that green splatteriness alone though, lol.
