The story about him showing up at Prince’s house barefoot in the snow to get money from him for drugs, and lying about needing bail money for his brother - seems it will be an honest telling of his time with Prince.

Just finished reading this book on kindle while simultaneously listening to it on audible. Very interesting take and perspective from Morris Day. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. However, the audible experience would have been a 1000 times better if Morris Day would have done the narration himself! I would have had this audible book on constant repeat if Morris was reading - not taking anything away from Ron Butler but he ain't no Morris Day!

I'll have to see later if my hardcopy came today. But I'm enjoying the hell out of this. Yep, seems to be exactly what's going on. How utterly boring. All i got to say. He mentioned this on the DVD that came with the Condensate album, although I don't think he said the name of the rental place. It's been awhile since I've watched it. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I downloaded the audiobook from Audible and listened all day yesterday and most of the day today. It is a very interesting book. I learned a few new tidbits about their relationship that I never knew. I also learned that they recorded music at different points in their career. Some I knew about, some I didn't.
I really liked how Morris opened up about his personal life. I knew he was married a couple of times, but he was never one to broadcast his business in the street. He also never really mentioned his wives, kids or family too much. He went kind of deep in parts about his life and I applaud that.
I also loved how he shed more light as to why Jesse was in and out of the group. He didn't go into deep detail, but he did mention the root of the issue.
In the audiobook, it did get confusing hearing Morris, Prince and "MD" (his ego from Purple Rain) all have conversations. The actor that was reading didn't do a good job distinguishing the 3 voices to me.
I highly recommend it. It was funny at times, yet sad at times. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Just finished the Kindle version and loved it. I don't mind Morris using Prince in the narrative. Afterall, he is part of the narrative when it comes to Morris and the Time.
