Just like the character he still plays in his live show...

Does he still play the character PRETENDING to be cool? Or does he play a cool character?

Good question... Not sure. I sure enjoyed it either way... It's been several years since I saw Morris perform but I took my son to see the show and he enjoyed it as much as I did. Now, that I think about it--with all the humor involved--it is probably a character that pretends to be cool on some numbers...and then actually IS cool on others. lol

I think he has always been 'cool' but the 'gigolo' aspect is not him. I don't he does that much anymore

I wonder will Morris discuss the real reason why Jerome (whom I ran into at a upscale clothing store) left.

Wasn't it to raise his kid and be closer? I heard his kid was in high school and played football. Jerome wanted to be around to help coach his son and just be a dad.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

On the one hand, that's kind of a shame. But I can understand why. It's not a good look for a 60 year old man to be acting like a gigolo.

I've said enough. What I well say is Jerome is VERY approachable and a pleasure to meet. EVERYTIME I've seen him. I can see why Prince was fond of him & adored him.

Though the cover does look a bit cheap, it is very much in tune with the Icecream Castle´s album design and maybe it´s meant to look a bit over the top and cheesy?

They´ve used the same font, the same colors, and even the picture is from the same era.

I hope they won´t change the design. Not that I like it, but that´s the Morris Day that people know and remember.

To be fair, a couple of colors or a font is not "in tune" with the ICC cover. That photo was 100x better than this one we see here. I don't know why someone like Morris would purposely set out to make something look cheesy like that. There's no purpose in it, nor does it fit his M.O. Frankly, ICC was better of the covers than the first two albums as far as color or creativity. None were bad, but ICC felt more colorful and engaging, masculine.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Like this is going to be a coffee table book and folks need the cover to look a certain way. Everybody's buying it for what's in it. He's letting those freckles pop, that's what got my attention, not a whole lotta retouching in the photo, unlike others were during that time. Does that mean not a lot of "polishing" the stories?

LOL Well, maybe they will change it by the time the book comes out.

I sure hope so.

YAYAASS! hold on hold on this book ain't for everybody, JUST THE SEXY PEOPLE! biggrin

Morris writing a book kind of fills the void, in some ways, left when Prince didn't finish his autobiogrophy. In a perfect world we'd get books and Netflix movies of all the best protoges life stories: Sheila, Jesse, MD, Judith, Jill, HER NAME IS DENISE ( yas Prince we know biggrin ) and of course Terry Lewis who you just can't praise enough really, but I digress.

Did I mess my hair up?

Fellas yall play something, I'm going over hear and read THIS BOOK! biggrin

CONGRATS MORRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cool

I hope it does mean that he isn't going to photoshop all the details to the point that the man looks like the perfect example of the practicing Jehovah Witness, modest, chaste, etc. I believe Morris loved him like a crazy cousin.

I wonder if Morris is going to talk much about his acting career, particularly the cartoon series.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Oh wow so Morris is going to mention about his rumor cocaine addiction? I always thought Pop Life was Prince shading at him and possibly Vanity.

I am interesting in the book though.
