I know that Tyka has said in interviews that Prince didn't collaborate, or receive help from Prince on her projects; but Vanity 6 said, with straight faces, the same thing. Several of the songs that I'lve listened to on youtube sure sound like they have a touch of Prince on them. I know a lot of people on her don't really appreciate the music she has released, but that aside, does anyone believe that he wasn't involved, or does anyone else hear his influcence/sound?

I do not believe he was involved with her Royal Blue project. It is a good album, though. I used to listen to it all the time when I was in the military. I still have the vinyl.

We now know that Prince has contributed uncredited to several records. However I do not believe it's him in the background vocals, though it's pretty obvious those vocals were made to sound like him. Professional vocalists can emulate other vocalists to some extent, and given that they were siblings, it's not insane to assume Tyka's voice texture may have been relatively close to Prince's.

After P's death, Tyka claimed her brother offered her to use the studio for free and that she declined, choosing instead top record elsewhere. So far, she hasn't admitted any contribution by him.

So until Tyka or another person in the know reveals that Prince was involved, it's safe to assume he wasn't.
