I don’t really see it like that.
Asides from the confusion arising from the 2-3 year discrepancy, I’m not sure whether Tyka really has contradicted herself. Even if she has, it must be horrendous to face all these interviews, knowing that your every word will be scrutinized by what would appear to be a largely unsympathetic and critical fan base.
Ok, so in this account she is shocked and ‘screaming all the way home’, which on the face of it maybe seems to conflict with her 2-3 year expectation of Prince’s passing.
However, going back 20 years for me, I could both say that I was fully expecting a young friend to pass away within a few months due to illness, but by the same token was also genuinely completely shocked, when he died suddenly that weekend from an unexpected OD. It may sound like a contradiction, but nevertheless is still true.
At worst, Tyka may perhaps have misinterpreted an email from her brother about his state of health, though admittedly I must even confess to having some lingering doubts about that.

Tyka seems pretty harmless to me. I don’t detect jealousy and I don’t get any negative vibe, when she speaks lovingly about Prince. I do think however that she is not well versed at interviewing techniques, and is not very guarded at all.
Initially, when she mentioned Michael, I will admit that initially I groaned inside (after all what diehard Prince fan enjoys the seemingly endless unfavorable comparisons to Michael?), and thought why couldn’t she have mentioned JB or even Sly, but as she continued the penny finally dropped for me that she is talking solely from her childhood perspective.
Unlike Prince, Stevie and Michael were pretty much publicly acknowledged child prodigies, both signed to Tamla Motown by the age of 11. By the time Tyka is say 10 in 1970, Stevie is 20 with umpteen hits already under his belt and riding high in the charts with ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours’ and the Jackson 5 have just exploded onto the scene with 4 number one singles on the spin.
Tyka openly admits that as a lil' kid she ‘should have known there must be something special’, as folks gathered round to listen to Prince play, but as a 7 year old child she wondered what the big deal was with “her regular ole brother” (“I’m like ok, I wanna go play”).
I think that she is simply trying to explain that, whilst we are all in awe and star-struck by Prince, to her he was and remains “just my brother’. As his sister, there is no way that she could possibly share the same idolizing perspective as us fans.
And incidentally, wasn’t Michael acquitted of those molestation charges?

Do you have trouble walking around with those rose tinted glasses? These sly little digs keep coming from her. If it makes you feel more comfortable to ignore it then fine, that's your prerogative. Her brother was a genius. But you'd never know it from listening to her speak now. There is no acknowledgement from her of that simple fact. She won't even say what song of his she likes the most. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Well, I don’t know if it is down to any rose-tinted specs, but I haven’t picked up any ‘sly digs’ and don’t detect any jealousy or disrespect for Prince from Tyka.
In fact I thought Tyka gave a very touching tribute to Prince, when she picked up his posthumous AMA for Purple Rain in 2016. On that occasion I thought she spoke with a fierce love & determination, making it clear to me that she deeply loves her brother and has huge admiration for his talent, dedication & achievements.
As for Michael, I’m neither a huge fan nor very clued up on his personal life, though I like some of his music. Of those you mentioned I’ve only heard of Chandler, and I don’t know who may have been ‘paid off’ (though admittedly, if true, it would seem pretty suspicious) and I would prefer to give the man the benefit of the doubt, unless proven otherwise.
I know next to nothing about R Kelly or his case, so I can’t really comment. I haven’t followed Bill Cosby’s case either, though I’m aware that recently he has been found guilty in a court of law.

The fact that you haven't heard about any of MJ's other accusers confirms what I'm saying. MJ is being protected. It's quite amazing. The biggest star in the world with MOUNTAINS of evidence appearing that he was a child molester and it's barely being mentioned at all. . I agree, I'm tired of her games too. MJ was not a child molester.

. I agree with what you are saying about Tyka, but with regard to MJ, you are mistaken. . The fact that those individuals who made those claims against MJ all took a cash settlement, speaks volumes about their shady character, and they are all liars. . Let's keep this thread about Tyka, ok?

I think she means, he was PRINCE, and PRINCE is PRINCE and is no Stevie Wonder or Michael Jackson. HE IS PRINCE. People takes what she says out of context. I have discovered that she just talks like that. Prince, made remarks just like that and he let people think what they wanted to.

Naw it is what is. To say he ain't No Michael Jackson. I say MJ was no Prince! MJ wrote very few, if any of his Hit Lyrics where as Prince wrote his on Hit Lyrics. Then MJ could not play any instruments mastered or half arse! Where as Prince was awesome on guitar, keys, bass and drums and other instruments

I saw no harm in her comments about the comparisons. I mean they are P's contemporaries in the music world although majority of us get sick and tired of the endless MJ comparisons. That is her brother afterall, and she isn't looking at him as a musical genius, legend, icon although she is very proud of him and knows the love his fans have for him. It would be odd if she were drooling over him like we do now wouldn't it, lol! I admit the title of the video on Youtube is clickbait and I fell for it! At what point do we just stop judging and telling people how to mourn. We are all humans with different opinions and flaws. Tyka wasn't trying to bash her brother but was just explaining a little too bluntly for some the relationship she had with her big bro Prince Roger Nelson. She will never see him as a superstar because that's just her big brother. And all of y'all attacking her in your so-called attempt at protecting Prince, Prince would tell y'all off and almost fight you all for some of the rude comments you all are saying about her. Because that's his little sister, who you all know he was very protective and caring of.
This is the reason Prince isolated himself from fans & fanatics, because some people just go to far. Y'all really making her seem like she rejoiced when her brother died. And I'm not saying everybody on the board does this. Just only you all that feel entitled enough to think you should tell people how to act when a love one dies. But let someone attack y'all when your love one die the way you all have attacked Prince family and close friends. Y'all even attack the mods and good morals of faithful Prince followers when they correct y'all. If you don't like what she said that's fine and say that, but the name calling and degrading her isn't mature or something you all would lie done to you.

Again, she was stating this from the perspective of a 7 year old sister, wondering why her friends weren't going to go play, and were instead watching her 9 year old brother play the piano or guitar. As a 7 year old little girl, she was thinking, "He ain't no Michael Jackson, no Stevie Wonder. He's just Prince."

After thinking about it I can see both sides here. One side that is her big brother and didn't see a superstar, on the other hand, she didn't have to mention any names since we know these comparisons can be endless. It also gives some glee to those faithful MJ fanatics to say "see, even Prince's own sister didn't think he was better than MJ, hehe" to revel in the nonsense and silliness that starts the convo and adds more fuel to the ongoing fire. Going forward, perhaps she can start to use a little more PR training in some of these interviews. [Edited 5/5/18 6:24am] Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above~
