Latin, thanks so much for sharing this. Jones is correct in so many ways. Let's hope that, moving forward, people remember Prince for all the many ways he contributed to society.

I do not think so. I am not a fan of Van.

I sat right next to Van at a Prince tribute and he was crying his eyes out. NO MAN cries like that over ANYBODY unless he really cared about them and loved that person.

Which tribute was that?

Andre Cymone sung a duet with Jill Jones "Sometimes It Snows in April" and it wasn't a dry eye in the building.

Yeah, well I wouldn't consider myself a fan either, as I don’t really know much about Van (though I suspect I’d probably align with many of his socio-political views and I seem to be in the minority that likes to see him wearing a purple tie in honor & remembrance of his friend ). That said, if he doesn’t love Prince dearly, he must be a very accomplished actor.
Most men develop the ability to keep our emotions in check stoically after decades of practise, but this poor guy’s voice is breaking, whenever he speaks about Prince. He seems to me to be struggling badly to keep his emotions in check, especially bearing in mind that he is a professional on TV.
If Van is a charlatan and a cad, I must say that for me he is a heckuva convincing one, and his thespian talents are wasted on CNN; he should be in Hollywood or treading the boards on Broadway.
You may well be correct of couse, as I don't know Van from Adam, but for now I suppose we can agree to disagree.

That is an honor to be at that tribute. . Much respect to your loss- I did not mean anything to offend.

U are entitled to your own opinion. But I support any black man that's trying to make a success out of himself in a positive way. Especially one that's put to the forefront publicly Prince's philanthropist side(which I already knew about).
The tributes are starting to become too emotional for me. Even though i would like to check out the new configuration of The NPG. Van is a good man....

I also believe this to be true.

I think he’s broken up about Prince... I just question after hearing the Deborah Johnson interview and looking at someother things if he is solid.

Actually, I am seeing now that Prince had a lot of people around him that weren’t solid. The only person I feel was totally trustworthy with no selfish motives was Kirk.

. Kirk??!! Yes. I haven’t finished reading all the investigative reports yet though. Too busy. When I have the time to do that, I’ll say more. Right now, and instinctively, I have always felt that Kirk was Prince’s true brother. Is there a reason you don’t feel that way Clovering? I’m truly sincere when I ask your opinion.

. Oh, okay. There is a lot of information to absorb. Phaedra's behavior disturbs me the most, and she has strong ties to Van.

I honestly don't think he had anyone around him that he could trust. If he did they would have been with him and helped. I think Van is truly heartbroken though as far as their friendship. KJ should not have left his side.....left him alone at PP. At that stage of the game I would have been watching Prince like a hawk to make sure he was ok until the doc arrived. Who picked that doc that they did call? Was that Judith? I have such mixed emotions about some of these people and what they were thinking or NOT thinking. Do they not know how to research and find a quality doctor? And then there is the doc's son......I just roll my eyes at all of it because it doesn't make sense.

Judith didn't have anything to do with it. Phaedra picked the Dr. because that was her sisters Dr. who helped her sister thru her addiction.

The love of money is the root of all evil.
