The Love of His Life I have video of one of Prince’s longtime associates who was around all the time until the end, saying about Mayte and Prince: “She was the love of his life and he was the love of hers.” When people standing around the associate said, “Wow”, and so forth, the associate continued, “That is the truth. That’s the truth.” The associate repeated this four times.

Maybe the reason Mayte doesn’t get into all the, “He loved this one more” stuff, is that she is secure in this. I do see her and Prince as having a real love, meaning keeping the others’ happiness utmost in mind. She really cared about him and his music. There weren’t games. Only respect. Yeah stuff happened after the tragedies, but they did have this.

She put her career behind his to be with him.

NACN, both "Comeback" and "Until U're In My Arms Again" are the most heart breaking pieces of work product resulting from Prince and Mayte's union. And those are the two known and published songs about Amiir. Per Mayte's book, there are more songs about this subject in the Vault. . Until U're In My Arms Again All of my life I've never wanted anyone like I wanted U Wow. I never heard that one. Prince, we miss u so much. We know you’re with your baby now. 💗

Excited is an understatement. They were thrilled to become parents. Based on what Mayte wrote in her book, was thrilled, ecstatic, so-in-love, over-the-moon-happy about becoming a father. He somehow convinced Mayte's doctor to sell him the heart monitor. He had people build a playground at PP/their Galpin Road home. . People can say what they want about Mayte's book, but the details that she shares about 's behavior during her pregnancy and while their son was alive are quite possibly the most heartwarming, magnificent, and flattering descriptions that anyone could ever write about the man. He was an absolute rockstar of a father and husband during Amiir's short life, and it's because of her book that the world knows how great of a father he was and how great of a husband he could be in his best moments. I am heartbroken for what he went through.

I love the 2nd picture down. Never saw that. And the last photo, yes, he was tiny! His waist is much below hers. I think his legs were very short. 😊💜

Agree, most definitely, with your statement I have bolded, Michelle. Prince's actions during the week their precious son lived left no doubt, in my mind, that he would have been a loving, patient, caring Father. Definitely, a sad affair that Prince and Mayte were denied the opportunity to shepherd Amiir to adulthood. That child would have been loved ad infinitum..... I really think he wore his heart on his sleeve for Mayte in a way he didnt with anyone else Something was different about P and Mayte for this associate, who had an all-around view of everything, to say that. The associate wasn’t around when P and Mayte we’re together, she was there afterwards. So I don’t know what her basis is for this. It was either things she saw, heard or was told by P, or things Mayte expressed to her during the many hours she spent with Mayte after P’s passing. I do know Dr. Fberry said around late 2016 that some female friends of P’s told him that P had told them that he still had “very deep feelings” for Mayte, and this was said in a way that when read, I felt this was beyond P just “caring”. Then again, Dr. Fberry sometimes puts forth things strongly with his opinion during times when he feels something. Whatever the case, I believe those were P’s exact words. [Edited 3/6/18 13:14pm]

[Edited 3/6/18 13:14pm] When did Dr. Funkenberry say this? During his podcast? On Twitter? . I ask because, while some fans are quick to criticize and throw shade at Mayte, my understanding is that Mayte is on good terms with Sheila E. and is a friend of Shelby J’s. It is fair to say that Sheila E. and Shelby J. were both close to P prior to his death. In addition, P’s siblings permitted Mayte to attend his funeral. My line of thinking is that if P had negative sentiments toward Mayte at the end of his life, the family would not have permitted her to attend the funeral or tribute concert in October; likewise, if P had negative sentiments toward Mayte, Sheila E. and Shelby J. would not be so friendly with Mayte. In addition, I think it is worth noting that none of Prince’s siblings nor the PRN Estate condemned or took legal action regarding Mayte’s book, The Most Beautiful. Until U're In My Arms Again All of my life I've never wanted anyone like I wanted U Wow. I never heard that one. Prince, we miss u so much. We know you’re with your baby now. 💗 I forgot to mention that there has never been explicit confirmation from P, Mayte, or anyone else that the subject of UUIMAA is their son. However, it is quite obvious that he is the subject when one listens to the song and analyzes the lyrics. Also, in chapter 9 of her book, Mayte mentions that she and prayed every night for their unborn child, which UUIMAA mentions as well. The raw heartbreaking emotion in ’s voice in Comeback and UUIMAA is also strikingly similar. Based on reviewing past threads, there seems to be a general consensus among orgers that UUIMAA is about their son. . Sigh, it breaks my heart that and Mayte lost their only child. From what Mayte wrote in her book, fatherhood brought out the very best in , and I’m happy that the world knows how great of a father he was because I think that he deserves to have the distinction of being a great father on his proverbial resume, even though his son’s life was short-lived. He may not have had it in him to discuss his fatherhood with the world, outside of the songs Comeback and UUIMAA, but fatherhood is/was a part of Prince’s life story. As sad as the fatherhood chapter of his life is/was, it had a profound impact on the man into which he evolved, particularly regarding his spiritual/religious views (conversion to the JW faith) and the direction of his music (namely, “toneing-down” the sexual content of his studio and live music post-1996). I loved them together...it's a shame it didn't last. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

I was happy to read this, but the romantic and optimist in me wishes Prince had told this to Mayte. She always seemed to hold out hope. It would have been nice if they could have reconciled -- even just be close friends and have closure on past issues -- in his last years. They shared so much together.
Hopefully, if he didn't tell her this directly at some point, these friends have shared these things with Mayte. I would think that had there been any doubt in her mind, finding out he still cared for her deeply after all this time and what they went through would mean the world to her.

I agree. We keep reading about the people he reached out to in his final months and I wish Mayte had been one of them . It may have done them both good to re-visit their time together from a more peaceful and reflective time in their lives .I feel , of all the people he should have spoken with , it would be the mother of his child ...especially if he still had feelings for her ...RIP

He said something like that in a podcast of his. From what he said,he seemed to agree that Prince may have had some lingering feelings for Mayte but he said that he felt his pride may have kept him from admitting it.He also said that Prince was interested in dating Misty Copeland and Dani Leigh as well so he didn't make it sound like he was pining away for her or anything like that.It would have been nice though if he and Mayte had become close again if that's what he wanted. I am surprised Prince would seriously confide in Dr.F who he was interested in dating ...who is he kidding... smh

He also said that Prince wrote U Will B for Misty. He said that about Danielle after talking about Kandace Springs suggesting in the GQ interview that Prince came on to her and he talked like he doubted her story and that he thought it was disrespectful to Prince for her to say that.He went on to say that Prince was interested in Dani that way but she has never talked about it and has remained respectful. Also that Prince was very respectful and went to her mother and asked if it was okay with her first.
